On tap at State 48 DTPHX, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out that very cheap and harsh Jim Beam barrel character upfront and dominating, with a roasted malt base that is overtaken by the barrel. Flavour is just as harsh, with quite unpleasant bourbon character from the Jim Beam — seriously, why barrel age in JB barrels? This has ruined a perfectly good beer underneath. Cheap, harsh bourbon character on the finish. Not good at all.

On tap at State 48 DTPHX, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, with lots of dark cocoa and vanilla, followed by light roast and sweetness. Flavour is rich and chocolatey, with lots of dark baker's chocolate upfront, accentuated by a nice vanilla bean character, and low roast. Medium-sweet, finishing with plenty of smooth cocoa and vanilla. Very nicely made.

On tap at State 48 DTPHX, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out earthy hops, a hint of pine, and moderate roasted malt. Flavour is a bit harsh and thin, but has reasonable balance between the hops and malt; there's light toasted malt, a little roast, and earthy hops. Would prefer more pronounced, robust hops and a fatter roasted malt base. But not bad overall.

On tap at State 48 DTPHX, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma is full of resinous and piney hops upfront, with gentle tropical fruits, and a sweet biscuity malt base. Flavour is sweet and syrupy, with maybe a trace of diacetyl — there's syrupy sweet caramel malt, bready notes, and subdued hops that are smothered by the syrupy sweet malt. Way off base here — barely drinkable or not even for me.

On tap at State 48 DTPHX, pours a cloudy bright red with a small white head. Aroma is bright and jammy, with lots of blackberry, tart citrus, and a hint of lacto. Flavour is jammy and fruity, with tart blackberry, light lacto, and a touch of salt. Bright and clean, with nice jamminess. Solid.
