I've passed under Micklegate once so far this year, will again for the York Beer Festival in September Dark reddish-brown coloured brew, which is a classic sweet tasting mild ale. Its aroma is where it gets most roasted. Quite easy, but never thin.

Can from Eskbank Trading. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of pine and caramel. Flavour of lemon, caramel and orange. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. This has a lovely rich colour and is a good west coast IPA.

Beer number five at the 31st May 2026 Bandstand Beer Gathering in Shrewsbury, five of us sharing stuff. Cheers Simon for the 440ml can of this sour puss. Hazy orange pour, kind of white topping. Sour mango and other rotting fruits in the nose and taste, no thanks (scored objectively).

Good stuff overall. Clean and fairly dry. Pale biscuits, straw, flaked cereal. Basic, easygoing and refreshing.
