Hand-pulled cask pint in the newly refurbished Oddfellows, Wellington, Shropshire on 10th sep 2014. Light golden body, clear and bright (almost lager like) with a good white head. Fruity and tasty, semi-sweet with a light malty front, the hops being well suppressed from the start, another cask pint on 6th June 2026 at the Pheasant Inn, Wellington.

A nice Pale Ale. The aroma has fruity, hoppy tones and the flavour has a light fruity, peachy taste.

Though advertised as a bitter or pale ale, this is a typical new generation English golden ale, with a soft fruity character, smooth and slick mouthfeel, delicate sweet maltiness and nice grassy hop bitter balance in the finish.

Sampled @ GBBF day 2 as Abbeydale Orange Wheat Beer. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste wheat, orange peel, flowers, slightly vegetables, citrus. Not nice at all. Average body and carbonation. Don’t like it at all.

Cask at the Post Office Valults, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly off white head. The aroma is big liqourice malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a rich malt, molasses light red berry fruit, light alcohol palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a clear light amber with a bubbly white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is malt, light hop, light citrus. The flavour is light bitter with a malt light pepper spice, light grass hop palate. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. It’s a session ale for sure but I don’t get the spice at all. I was expecting something to remember, but it’s instantly forgettable.
