33 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a dense off-white head. Light spiced and mild hoppy aroma. Light fruity into mild sour, but this is a biere de garde - no wonder. Light caramel malt and light lacto bacteria flavour. Light yeasty note mixed with a smooth to mellow caramel malt flavour. Decent and classic French biere de garde.

Bottle at Le Sous-Bock, Paris
Hazy blond color; no head retention. It has a poor aroma of stale beer (the dropping under a tap in the pub). Almost no flavor, slighlty sweet, with a very late tart wheat touch. Not disgusting, but plain useless.

Cloudy light amber color; poor head. It’s a very simple Ale, dry, with a spicy touch, and very light bitter oranges; the aroma is quite poor, the flavor acceptable.

33 cL bottle. Pours muddy brown/orange with a crispy white head, disappearing rapidly and leaving little lacework. Slight acidic yeast aroma with a caramel note. Acidic/bitter flavour with some malt base. Bitter/sour finish. Not good.

Bottled. Pours unclear with lots of floaties and an off-white head. Salty licorice, chestnut and cork in the aroma. The flavor is chestnut, malt and mould. Medium body and a strange bitterness in the finish. Not my kind of beer. (060929)

Bottled. Pale golden with a white head and sediments. A bit acidic fruityness in the aroma, with banana, yellow apples and some yeast. Fruits, yeast and spice in the flavor. Thin, a bit sticky body, and spices and fruityness in the finish. Not a very successful wit, IMO. (060829)
