19/10/2024. Draft at SOL Taphouse - Gwangan, Busan. Pours clear pale gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma is floral, malt, citrus, caramel, hints of honey and herb. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate bitterness and body. Average carbonation. SOL “Slice Of Life” better than the Sol most would know!

Draught at SOL Taphouse, Seomyeon, Busan. Slightly cloudy, gold colored. AROMA- malty, floral hops, touch of yeast. FLAVOR- neutral, lightly bitter, malty, yeasty, some floral hops. Medium bodied. Average.

Canned 500ml. -Black coloured, small brownish head that went away fast, noticable coconut nose with whiff of chocolate. Sweet malty, coconut, chocolate, discreet coffe and light alcohol with sweetish finish. Smooth.

My last Chillhops beer… Chillhops Dirty Play Extra Stout 6.6% Deep brown verging on black with thin tan foam and a roasty sweet cocoa aroma. Medium bodied with a silky mouthfeel. The taste is roasty, with a bit of smoky savory dark malt notes as well as cacao paste and even slight nutty undertones. Not what they’re known for but it’s solid.

Chillhops Passionfruit Wheat Ale 5% Fruit sour Pale gold with fizzy white foam that vanished fast. Very tart passionfruit aroma with crackery pale malts. Light bodied and very dry. Very crisp light bodied tart wheat ale with passionfruit. I’m a bit surprised how much malt character there was and while it has a simple flavor profile it’s got excellent balance to it and I’d say it’s a great example of this style.

Chillhops Hops N’ Chill Summer Blast NE Double IPA 8.3% I picked this up at the taproom in Itaewon for about 8000KRW. I enjoyed it at the beach in Shiga. Milky honey gold with dense white foam and a big hop bouquet. Silky smooth medium-full body is what I prefer in a hazy. The taste started off juicy and then went green bitter herbal. Pretty solid stuff but on tap the haze was much nicer (which is as it should be). I’ve heard Chillhops is not only big for their NEIPAs but also sours so I’ll give one sour of theirs I’ve got a try next.

Bottled@PBF XIII. Black colour small beigeish brown head. Aroma is cinnamon some roasted tones with mild spiciness. Flavour is roasted tones, cinnamon and some spiciness.
