Description
Two brewers, Jean-Yves Nauroy (42 years old, from Lorraine, saxophonist, bearded fisherman, dad and now brewer) and Régis Barth (38 years old, from Lorraine, scribe, grumbler, all fired up, dad and now brewer) welcome you in their brewery installed at the back of the barn in May 2005, self-financed, tinkered with, adapted and assembled by them.

Most of it consists of adapted, salvaged or second-hand equipment. Since July 1, 2007, they have been renovating an old barn and stable in the village of Revermont Jura, La Ferté. They started brewing there in June 2008 with the aim of increasing production to a livable level, ie 300 hl per year or 3,500 bottles to be marketed per month.

Bottle at THT. Almost black with beige head. Sweet grains and lots of old coffee, milk chocolate, soft herbs, toffee. Strangely sweet with herbal bitter finish. Under medium bodied with a bit slick watery feel. Not the best beer by the brewery...

Bottle shared at home. Hazy golden with big fluffy white head. Lots of citrus with lime peel, orange, light lemon. Quite herbal and grassy, spicy yeast, light sweet malts. Light sweet and over medium bitter. Medium bodied with quite some carbonation. Very nice.

Small, fast gone cream-beige head over deep brown beer. Caramel, toffee, blue/dark berries, roasted, roasted malts and grains. Bitterish-roasted, with a faint sourish streak, upheld by the spritzy carbonation. Roast keeps in the palate, but the bitterness is all but gone by that moment. Faint fruity notes. Gets rather dull-sweetish warming up. Bit thin body, near overcarbonated despite the small head. Average.

Towering, yellowish head, leaving textbook lace over finely, well-carbonated orangey golden beer. Very nice citrussy & fruity (New World) hops, dry straw & grains. Slight ureum . Taste is bitter, fruity, just a tad metallic. Citrus/citruspeel; hopoil galore. Faint grain/malt underneath, but fully dominated by the hops. Slgith astrigency, metallic tang; sharpish carbonation, light body. Top quality IPA.

Very fine & dense yellow-amberish tinted head over faintly veiled foxy-copper beer; textbook lace. Some hops, some mineral aroma; caramel; oxydized, old, even nearly rancid nuts. Caramel, again nutoil, and hoppy-leafy bitterness (oak, nettles, dandelion,...) Precious little IPA flavours. Warming up, musk. Oily, viscous, oozy feel. Much less carbonated than the very stable head suggests. Right. Send somebody over to California, now.
