Slow gushing to huge, dense pitting-in white head, incredibly stable over fully hazy goldenbeer, very carbonated, and with lots of UFO's. Mincepie, meaty, sulphur, diary, lactic acid wild yeasts. Chamomille, laurel, poplar, lactic acid, citric acid, lemon, lemonbalm, sorrel. Light, refreshing - if quite slick - creamy texture thanks to the stable head, remarkable for a sour ale. Original beer, worthwile. A real plus for the Belgian blenderscene!

First beer - named after the zip code of Tongeren and carrying 37 IBU - by an experienced brewer who has previously contributed to AmBassadeur and other beers, but is now working on his own microbrewery, though this one is apparently still realized at Varenbroek. Thick and frothy, egg-white, pillowy, membrane-lacing head, resting high on a misty golden blonde beer with vague apricot tinge (hazy apricot with sediment) and visible sparkling. Aroma of raw parsnip, unripe peach, green apple, clear and 'actual' iron (confirmed by the so-called 'hand test'), old clove, dried dandelion, dry straw bales, dusty earth, spoiled potato mash, cardboard (in spite of being only four months old now), minerals. Quite crisp but somewhat 'empty' onset, some unripe peach and green apple notes, low in sweetness (which in a session ale is in itself not a bad thing), with very lively, minerally, somewhat stingy carbonation; supple cereally pale malt core, dryish and a tad white-bready, with a dim sourish undertone seemingly accentuated by the added iron. Elements of raw potato and turnip in the end match with a rather earthy, but also floral hoppiness, providing a mild and soft end bitterness; minerally and iron-like effects continue, but not much else happens. Rather bland even for an ordinary Belgian blonde (though perhaps less ordinary in deliberately being below the average ABV for this style), with a somewhat annoying sourishness and iron effects which should not have been present. This 3700 does not give an impression of being created by an experienced brewer - this rather comes across as a first, shy attempt at testing the market by some young and underaccomplished kitchen brewer (no offense). Surely this At Tack project can do better - perhaps the lambic poured in their second beer, Legatus, can save the day...

Bottle @ Vonk, Tongeren. HAzy blond colour, white foam. Very dry, citrus peel, bitter hoppy finish. A bit metallic and unbalanced. Not very nice.

2015 version. Bottle at Delice et Caprices. Little bit of tripel fruitiness and sweetness. But delicate, grainy, yoghurt saison elements. Light bitterness.

Bottle from Wijnegemse Drankenhal. Apparently a fresh-hopped tripel, with thick and frothy, off-white, ’papery’ lacing, very stable head and initially clear, amberish-tinged peach blonde robe, a tad darker than average for a tripel, turning misty with sediment. Aroma of peach, banana liqueur, camomile, frangipane, yellow raspberries, melting powder sugar, white pepper, jasmin flowers, almond, ’jenever’, bubblegum. Very estery onset, peach, pineapple, banana and ripe sweet gooseberries with a light sourish touch, fizzy carbo, soft and fluffy mouthfeel. Caramelly and bready malt sweet middle, while a white candi syrup-like sweetness lingers and even cloys a bit in the end; floral and bit earthy finish, where this weird jasmin-like sweet perfume rises up retronasally, some spicy hop bitterness but very mildly so, followed by (a bit too) obvious, ’jenever’-like alcohol, very warming, though not as wry on the tongue as I had feared. Sweet tripel with an unusual, but not unpleasant sweet perfumeyness to it - which obviously has nothing to do with either green- or dry-hopping, as a ’serious’ hop character to balance out the sweetness is weirdly (i.e. in spite of what is announced on the back label) as good as lacking. Enjoyable alright, but not what it promises to be.
