Gepersonaliseerde bieren op aanvraag zijn mogelijk!
Het eerste bier is 'Kludde', een blond bier, te verkrijgen sinds maart 2016. Door de grote vraag ernaar, zal het volgende een bruin bier zijn.

At Wieze Bierfestival, 18 March 2018. Deputy Taster: Anke.
Hazy brown with a thing, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, spices, caramel, raisin & berries, tea leaves & herbs, nuts, some banana. It tastes medium malty sweet with hints of caramel and nuts, becoming medium spicy bitter. Dry, herbal, bit yeasty finish with warming alcohol - rather apparent. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation - too much, creating 'foam' in the mouth. Indeed, as the brewer himself told me, 'not a real Stout' in terms of taste (then why mention it in the description?). More of a Quadrupel with herbal qualities. I'm being lenient.

Local Belgian blonde from the larger Antwerp region, steini bottle from Wijnegemse Drankenhal. The name refers to a regional legend about some mythical water monster - which is why the image of a chained brown bear on the front label seems completely irrelevant, but anyway. Slow gusher but manageable. Very thick and frothy, egg-white, dense head leaving behind a rim of tight membrane lacing, opening only very slowly, over an immediately misty, ochre-tinged straw blonde beer, turning more vaguely orange-ish murky ochre with sediment. Aroma of strong bubblegummy banana ester, old orange juice, dry coriander seed, ripe pear, raw rhubarb, sourdough, powder sugar, canned pineapple slices, red apple peel, ginger, camomile tea, sugarloaf, raw potatoes, hand soap, unripe green melon, cloves, cooked parsnip, vague accents of white cardamom, sweetclover and faintly liquorice-like sweet cicely - probably poor remnants of the C-hops allegedly used in this beer. Fruity, estery onset, lots of banana ester with hints of pear, pineapple and sweet red apple, quite pronounced ’green apple acetaldehyde’, in all mainly sweet but with a dull sourish undertone, heavily overcarbonated, very fizzy and minerally, accentuating this sourishness underneath and numbing the tongue, distracting from the actual taste. Softly bready malt ’bedding’ adorned with continuing banana ester, residual and honeyish ’refined’ sugariness, upcoming clove-like phenols and persisting, fizzy and numbing overcarbonation, leading to an only very limitedly dryish finish with floral and very mildly spicy, bit earthy and only very limitedly citrussy hop bitterishness and clear soapy ’corianderness’. It is, however, the simple bready malt sweetness, the unfermented sugary sweetness and the banana ester that keep reigning till the very last drop, with an even breadier yeast flavour added after the sediment has gone into the glass; a very vague ’jenever’-ish alcohol presence can be felt but remains in place. Yet another boring, bland, overcarbonated, coriandered, very bubblegummy and overly sweet Belgian blonde, made ’easy’ for the broad masses I suppose, but adding nothing to an already oversaturated landscape - oversaturated to the point where it blocks the connection Belgium urgently needs to make with international ale trends, even though the label claims that C-hops have been used - but if this is the case, I’d highly recommend using them for dry-hopping, though even this approach would probably not be able to save this beer from drowning in another large, albeit smaller pool of ’Belgian IPAs’. In this form, however, this is just another Belgian blond not knowing how to handle the international trends - note that C-hops meanwhile have been in existence for decades and here, they seem to have been applied in the same way as a classic Belgian brewer would use old European noble hops, which is clearly a sign of not understanding what is happening above our heads on a global level. Beers like this make me a little bit sad, technically correct as it might be.

Little hazy deep orange beer, big fluffy irregular off-white head, pretty stable little adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, some caramel, hay, cow fodder, little fruity, yeast, some chlorine. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, grains, pretty bitter, bit grassy, some citrus notes, little funky, touch of brett? Aftertaste: bitter, grassy, some citrus peel, slightly oxidized. Definitely one of the best beers I ever had from brouwerij Danny! (This one was brewed @ Danny for Ganzenhof)
