Blonde ale apparently brewed by Ganzenhof for a the first international event organised by a local department of the Scout Movement; thanks Meeki for sharing. Gusher so be ware. Snow white, medium thick, moussey head on a hazy yellow blonde beer. Aroma of ripe banana, grass, apple sauce, an obnoxious aspect of sweaty feet, Durondeau pear, stewed carrot, honey, field flowers, brioche, clove. Sweet onset, lots of ripe banana and ripe pear, some melon even, fizzy carb, slick body; brioche-bready and soggy-cereally palt maltiness, straightforward with a honeyish layer of residual sugars on top, along with the typical spicy dashes of coriander and clove, working to a somewhat earthy, moderately yeasty finish with lingering estery fruitiness and floral hop bitterishness kept mild. Very stereotypical Belgian blonde, ticking all the boxes of this almost standardized style - boring, for sure, but technically okay and I guess it has done its job as a connecting and easily enjoyable beer for these scouts (the ones that are old enough to drink alcohol, at least...).

24 February 2019. Wieze Bierfestival - cheers to Meeki, Ama Deke & the lovely Anke! Hazy brown-amberish with a lasting, thin, frothy, tan head. Aroma of candi sugar, toffee, licorice, green tea, peanuts, brioche, cookie dough, candied plum & banana. Taste is medium malty sweet, notes of caramel, estery banana & dough, with subtle fruity accents of raisin & plum; light to medium herbal bitter middle has green tea, cookie spices, licorice, faint metallic effect. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering licorice, caramel & nuts, some warming liqueur-like alcohol which probably shouldn't be noticeable at this ABV. Medium body, slick/syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Inviting at first, needs some polishing and this could be a decent enough Belgian 'brown', though no game changer, of course.

Dark brown colour with thin fizzy head. Aroma has lots of sweet malts and caramel. Similar flavour with light warmth of alcohol. Good but too gassy.

Bottle in De Bierboom, Brugge on 14th May 2018. Blond body with a light orange leaning, white crown on top. Bread like aroma with a light citrus twist. Taste a bit boring for a 7% beer, some mild sweetness below a mini citrus flavour.
