Ad Astra Cider is a new cider company based in the heart of Somerset. Founded by an RAF Veteran and his family, the name "Ad Astra" is proudly derived from the Royal Air Force motto "Per Ardua Ad Astra".
Ad Astra Cider is made from traditional cider apples, picked, pressed, and fermented on site within 12 acres of beautiful apple orchard. Never from concentrate, the cider is made from freshly pressed juice and is naturally slightly different each year dependent on the environmental conditions during the growing season.

500ml bottle from Ad Astra. Pours clear gold, aroma of mildly sweet apple fruit. Taste is crisp with a moderate fruitiness, very mild tannin dust on the finish, doesn't really taste 7.4% more around 4.5% Id say.. distant caramelised fruit, fairly gentle flavour profile, not much depth

500ml bottle from Ad Astra Cidery. Pours clear gold with a pleasant carbonation. Aroma of assorted medium apple fruit. Taste reveals a lovely tannic presence that caresses the cider apple fruitiness, light woody shades, gentle bitterness. Generally very well rounded. Lovely.

Handpull from barrel @ Ad Astra Cidery. Deep gold pour, lightly misty. Good bit of roughage on the tongue, nice natural orchard fruitiness. Pleasant pure fruit cider.

Handpull from barrel @ Ad Astra Cidery. Unclear deep gold appearance, still. Natural orchard fruit aroma. Good full natural fruitiness to taste, producing a furry tannic tongue on the finish. Pure apple fruit feel, can feel the strength well. Nice natural cider overall.

Keg @ Ad Astra Cidery. Pours a generally clear golden yellow, gentle sparkle. Light fruity aroma, gentle sweetness. Excellent medium dry character, moderately sweet desert apple fruitiness with pleasant tannic undertones. Great Medium dry.

Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 30/07/23. Clear golden with little in the way of a head. Nose is apple skins, straw, hedgerow, light orchard wood. Taste comprises apple skins, orchard wood, light caramel wafer, tannins, straw. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, light drying close. Pleasant enough refresher.

Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 29/07/23. Clear light golden with a white cap that thins edgewards. Nose is funky apple, tannins, hedgerow, grains, damp straw, light acidic tickle. Taste comprises earthy apples, funk, tannins, apple skins, orchard wood, vinous strains. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad if a touch raw.

500ml bottle from Ad Astra. Clear sparkling golden colour, thin white rim and aroma of fruity apple, caramel hint. Taste is sweetish, apple, tangy, some skin & core, alittle funk, some light acidity and tannin. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

500ml bottle from Ad Astra. Clear golden colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of juicy apple, fruity. Taste is sweetish, fruity apple, some skin and core, with woody & funk hints, drying tannin and acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium drying tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
