About
John Hibbert a.k.a. Ciderman lives at Broughton Bank, just north of Cartmel in southern Cumbria, "Lancashire over the Sands" as it used to be called. This is where he plants, picks and presses apples and pears to make cider and perry. This is certainly not the sweet fizzy stuff you find in normal pubs and supermarkets, it's a very special drink. Pay Ciderman a visit. Follow the signs and have a taste. He thinks you'll be glad you did!

28/6/2023. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of apple cider vinegar, vanilla, citrus, slight tropical edge. Medium sweetness and light tartness. Moderate body, soft carbonation.

Sample thanks to Danlo. Cheers mate! Misty pale gold appearance. Not much aroma. Fine carbonation. Crisp palate, with sharp citrus, medium dry apple tones, apple skin, finishing dry. Ok.

Sample thanks to danlo. Cheers mate! Pours a misty golden yellow. Aroma of sweet apple and allusions to mango fruit. Crisp initial sip with subtle wild funk nuances, very soft tannin and a fruit profile that brings citrus, vanilla and green apple with a lingering acidity.

750ml bottle from Broughton Bank. Clear pale golden colour, no head and aroma of pear, fruity, wood. Taste is sweetish, perry pear, fruity, floral, woody hint, with some light acidity. Medium bodied, low carbonation, drying finish. Nicely drinkable.

Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 08/05/23. Lightly hazed golden orange with a thin white cap that veers edgewards. Nose is apple skins, herb, hedgerow, damp straw, light sugars. Taste comprises cooking apples, vinous, light sugars, apple pie. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Okay if not one I'd go back to.

Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 08/05/23. Clear light golden with a fast escaping white head. Nose is crisp apple, straw, hint of sugar, apple skins, lemon zest. Taste comprises apple orchard, vinous, tannins, apple skin, bitter orchard edge. Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, drying close. Decent.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Danlo. A clear golden yellow coloured pour with a loose white edge. Aroma is semi sweet, dry apple, quince, lemon rind, floral pear notes. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, anf tart, granny smith, tart quince, pear, prickly apple. woody notes, floral notes. Palate is tart and crisp, prickly, fine carbonation. Nice. tart refreshing cide.

750ml bottle from Broughton Bank Cidery Cellar. Yellowy golden colour, no head and aroma of fruity apple, caramel. Taste is sweet, apple, some tartness, with caramel, vanilla, custard hint, and citric acidity. Medium bodied, low carbonation, lingering sweet and drying finish. Quite drinkable.

750ml bottle from Broughton Bank Cidery Cellar. Hazy yellow colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of apple, fleshy, citric, funk hint. Taste is tart, tangy, apple, fleshy, citric, with alittle funk and drying acidic. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry citric acidic finish. Quite drinkable.
