Sample at the Bistro’s DIPA-festival 2015. Orange/amber with a white head. Fresh and hoppy with grapefruit, grass, some sweetness and fruit. The finish was bitter and quite dry.

Can. Pours clear ruby black, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is ginger, cinnamon, roasted malts, toffee, allspice. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of gingerbread spices. Light body, light acidity. Meh.

Even the aroma is resinous as notes of pine, apricot, spices and something I’m calling tomato (!) rise from the glass. The resin combines with pine, spearmint and lychee upon tasting. The alcohol is not well hidden, leaving a very hot aftertaste in the mouth. PET bottle from Tru Bru.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a sure fire spice blend of ginger and cinnamon. Flavor is a little bit of a let down. Some of the ginger snap cookie is there but it’s much weaker then the aroma. Also the malts don’t really do anything. No real char or chocolate. Spices are left on the tongue as this goes down. This was ok and could have been beer with a better malt bill. My can says 8.5% abv.

Pour is a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is some brown malt mocha with a bit of soapiness. Flavor is some chocolate malt and not much after that. It is a bit bitter after the swallow but I’m not sure that’s what they were going for. It’s a brown ale.

Pour is a bright hazy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is plenty of tropical fruit hoppyness. Flavor is more a dank resin hop with maybe a little pine. I wish the flavor would of had more of the tropical fruit I got in the aroma. Still this is pretty solid IPA.

Pour is a bright hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is a decent pale grainy with a noticeable grassy hop. Flavor is equal parts dry almost pils type malt with a almost lemony hop at the end. This was a very enjoyable lager. Not watery in the least and something beer drinkers of all kinds would enjoy.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and light pine aroma. Grapefruit and light pine flavor with malt. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and light pine linger with malt and light caramel.

Can. Gold with a white head. Aroma of melon, Meyer lemon, some gooseberry, grass. Reminds me a fair bit of Oakham Citra. Light bodied, high carbonation. Bittersweet with tropical fruit, peach, lemon, white pepper. Finish is dry and fairly bitter. Good, but not sure why it’s so strong for the flavours.
