Can at Casper is back tasting. Tasty hoppy american pale ale resiny grapefruit hop. Pretty good. Likeable.

Can thanks to Caspar. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The nose is fresh, piney, sherbet, doughy, tangerine, dried mango and orange peel. The taste is bitter-sweet, pine needles, sherbet, brioche, candied peel, minerals and light alcohol with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty solid IPA action.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours very dark clear copper (against strong light) with a slight yellow/beige head. Aroma is nutty, lightly dark treacle, and hinting at smoke. Med body. Flavor is greasy/nutty, enough treacle to suggest cola, and there seems to be a low level smoke. Maybe not. Nut aspect could be confusing me. Certainly one of the tastier browns I can recall.

Tap. Pours crystal clear pale golden amber, medium white head, creamy, good lacing. Quite nice aroma of grapefruit, passionfruit, pine, dank forest floor. Flavor is lightly sweet with a bit of caramel, medium bitter, quite dank, a little harsh. Medium body.

Tap. Raspberry syrup? WTF?? Pours cloudy pale yellow, without the fucking syrup thank you. Small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is wheat, lemon, grain. Flavor is quite light tart, lightly sweet, notes of lemon and wheat. Pretty bland; now I see what the syrup is supposed to be for. Light body, high carbonation. Not a standout for the style.

Tap. Pours hazy golden, small white head, good lacing. Aroma is smoky wheat - odd, lemon zest, banana. Flavor is light plus sweet, lots of clove, citrus, banana, minimal bitterness. Light body, a bit of acid. Not so great.

Tap@Golden Road. Pours crystal clear pale yellow, medium creamy white head, dissipates very slowly leaving nice lacing. Aroma is grassy, lemon, grain. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, grassy with notes of lemon. A bit peppery, refreshing. Light body, high yet soft carbonation, a bit harsh bitter on the finish.

Can from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours clear gold with a transient white head. Aroma is a lot of grapefruit rind. Med body or nearly. Flavor is a lot of grapefruit rind, but there’s not a lot of caramel. Malt, but rather pale. Very interesting and unusual. It’s quite hoppy and bitter in the finish. Working very well for me.

Can at the 2014 Davis Beerfest. Pours very light gold with a white head. Bready aroma. Med minus body. Not getting a lot of hop. Ok lager, but not very flavorful. I will give it crisp and clean in the finish.
