Head reduced to rim in seconds over clear copperish beer. Woody nose, dry, old barrels, split wood, dried apples. Sweet - dry - spicy. Hints in the background first of Oud Bruin, without the caramel. Oud Bruin characteristics increase exponentially during sampling. Mild lactic acid, again something of dried apples. Tart, light body, but slight slickness. Low carbonation. Excellent in the line of other aged pale... vintage... you know. Thanks to Stef!

Zythos 2022. Clear light brown colour. Aroma and flavour have obvious but not extreme sourness. Vanilla elements from the old barrel come through adding a light sweetness.

11 September 2021. At Summer Belgian Beer Geek Gathering. Many thanks, Klaas & Liesbeth, cheers to the whole crew!
Aspects of white grape, quince, gooseberry & sour cream. Sour taste, grape peels, kiwi, citrus & lactic acid. Tart, acidic finish, tannic too with slightly warming white wine-like alcohol. Pretty decent alright.

Pours fairly clear, darker blonde. Medium large white head fades relatively fast. Scent is very balanced, but clear on the saison phenols. malty, slight green hop character. Taste is very full. Bitter, lots of saison phenols (but balanced) . High carbonation. Well made high ABV saison, thats dangerously drinkable, were it not for the overly high carbo. Than again, carbo like this is what Belgians do love.

Pours clear golden blonde. Medium sized head. Scent is grainy, bit simple but definately not off. Little to no hops, and a clean fermentation profile. Perhaps just a touch of DMS. Taste is sharp, bit bitter. mild herbal hoppy notes (earhty). Very fine. Medium high to high carbonation. Medium body. no real creamyness, making the beer 'sour' (not in taste, but in 'feel' , due to the lack of balance and the (always) lower PH in beer. DMS is a bit more expressed, but not problematic. Ok beer, but definately not worth seeking out.

23/XI/21 - 33cl bottle, shared @ HoReCa Expo (Gent), BB: VIII/2022 (2021-1478) Thanks to the Ghent beer posse for sharing today’s beers!
Clear pale blond yellow beer, small creamy dense white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: a bit malty, grains, a little fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, a bit sourish, grains, hay, cow fodder, meh. Aftertaste: bitter, metallic, dry, a bit hoppy, grassy, quite some citrus notes, decent but not super.

24 months aged edition (apparently there's also a 10 month, not sure if thats the same type of barrels though ). Pours a bit unclear blonde. Small white head. Scent is bit buttery (wine) , malty, oak. Taste is full, quite tart, yet balanced. Malty, not specifically refined, but enjoyable. Full flavored for the ABV. Unexpectedly great.
