Description
The history of the brewery goes back to 1919 with the merger of four breweries in Douai the Grande Brasserie des Enfants de Gayant is created. In 1994 the Goudale brand is launched. In 2000 the purchase of the Brasserie Jeanne D’Arc at Ronchin takes place, it is later renamed as Brasserie Grain d’Orge.

In 2010 the brewery is acquired by André Pecqueur the owner of the Brasserie de Saint-Omer and the Brasseurs de Gayant and the Brasserie Grain d’Orge merge. In 2016 the Brasseurs de Gayant move to Arques to a brand new modern factory, at the forefront of technology. It’s the birth of the Goudale brewery.

Great head on this beer. The flavour is lightly hopped but generally malt, with tinges of orange. Good beer.

Redish beer with a frothy headthat lasts forever. The aroma and flavour are very malty with little bitterness. Overall a very, very drinkable beer and you do not notice the alcohol strength at all.

Smells a bit spicy, citrus. Tastes like a Tripel. Bit spicy, bit fruity/flowery. Decent beer.

Standard wheat beer appearence. Slightly more bitter than Hoegaarden and Bruges. Reasonable but not as palatable as Grain d'orge witbier.

This beer is definately best served as cold as possible. It is a mixture of a pilsner and a spirit. Surprisingly after a lengthy chill the beer has a nice head and a active carboanted appearence. The aroma initially was like a german pilsner but ended up reseambling just an alcohol scent. Overall the beer was drinkable, but the strong alcoholic beers are now starting to get on my nerves.

Slightly winey taste, but very similar to the real belgian ales. Normally French beers are mediocre, but this beer is actually good.
