Good malty, strongish lager - I would call this a Vienna, and a pretty flavourful one at that.

Not a true Belgian ale as it is French. More harsher on the palate than its Belgian counter-parts, and less depth of taste.

My sample was cellared 3 years. Yeasty, light bodied, creamy. Tones of blue cheese. Balanced bitterness.

Light brown colour w/ a touch of amber; candyish, hazelnutty aroma; brown sugar dominates a moderately cloying palate; somewhat tasty but this is far too sweet.

Holding sweet notes of caramel malt, cherry and oak, with a very slight, pungent, acidic fruitiness.

One of the more mediocre examples of the style. I still like it, but there are better examples out there if you can find them.
