Can. CW online. Mostly clear deep gold. Bright white foam is leggy and lacing. Looks good. Nose has rich malt. Pine sap. Overripe citrus peel. Taste is up the same street with a sticky sweetness and a proper hit of sappy, ripe citrus bitterness. Nicely clean with brisk carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Lovely IPA.

Pours clear gold into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Papaya and weed aromas. Crisp with overripe tropical fruit and lemon joy front to back.

Undated can at Canary Square on 7/13/21.
Moderately hazy, brilliant sunset-orange with a small, white head that quickly recedes to a ring.
Lightly juicy in the nose with marshmallow and tangelo quite prominent. Hint of acidity for balance but nicely restrained on any potential twang/resin. Lactose not very prominent, thank god. No alcohol noted. Malts seem well-attenuated and add a bit of honey and plentiful biscuit/cracker.
Didn't realize this had lactose in it when I ordered it and was very disappointed when I found out. But much to my surprise, it's very reasonable and only comes out as a bit of creaminess and light marshmallow-like character that seems fine in concert with the strong tangerine-mango character of the beer. Bitterness is restrained, per style, but still provides decent balance. Malts are well-attenuated and also provide a bit of biscuity dryness. No alcohol or flaw. Not my favorite style, but if you're committed to adding lactose to an IPA, this is a good roadmap.

Buh-buh-buh, Bennie and the Jets!--Love the EJ reference. Can (date on top of 4-pack 12/15/20 so right at outermost edge of peak freshness) from Table and Vine. It's a deeply hazy light brown-dark yellow with tons of sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is fairly strong citrus and dank pine along with some secondary fruit (gets more tropical as it warms). Taste follows aroma with citrus and pine with late additional fruit followed by bitterness. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and dry, yeasty finish with moderate lingering bitterness. Overall, not a bad first exposure to this brewer and think this is misclassified--UT has as standard NEIPA, BA as an American IPA--and it seems to fit nicely in between as it's more in line with a hazy-looking, slightly juicy West Coast IPA. As that, it delivers reasonably well. Getting more of the citrus and pine notes noted in the lengthier description (UT) with growing tropical fruit as it warms but still restrained, but some of that could be hops degradation due to age.

Draught at Townshend, 11/11/18.
Clear, bright, light-golden, with a medium-sized, white head that slowly falls to cover.
Nose has flowery, herbal hops, very light but showing a pinch of light, rounded citrus, as well and light bits of cereal and cracker - seemingly well-attenuated. Very light overall, but mildness isn't so bad for a golden ale. The malt and yeast is clean with no heavy sugar nor any buttery or other off-notes. No alcohol noted.
In the mouth I get both floral, spicy hops that ease in to cracker and other various dry grain notes, with low but fairly engaging carbonation and just a touch of soap on the very end. The malt is well presented and attenuated and adds light touches of honey here and there, but is otherwise snappy and leaves a crisp finish in concert with the light bitterness. Very easygoing and approachable, but not thin, watery and flawed as so many golden ales are. It seems like they actually put some effort in to this one, which is nice.
