Keg at Otherworld Edinburgh. It pours cloudy golden - blonde with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, ripe, juicy, bright, dingy, tangy, tropical fruit punch, orange creamsicle, fanta, candied citrus peel and fruit cocktail. The taste is soft, juicy, bright, green, weedy, floury bread, mango, peach, apricot, citrus peel, grapefruit and a nip of alcohol with a drying, zingy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Big and flavourful. Very nice..

Cask at Cloisters. It pours darkest brown to black with a dissipating khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, chewy toothy, meaty, smokey, pipe tobacco, rich roasted coffee and some toasted nuts. The taste is firmly dry, toothy, chewy, plenty of bitterness, burnt toast, dark roasted malt, plenty of coffee, coffee cake, touch of tannin, cacao nibs and burnt toast with a drying coffee character finish. Average body and pretty low carbonation. A bit flatter than I would.like, so sits quite heavy on cask.

Can from Westhill Service Station (a guess). It pours jet black with a a dark brown head. The aroma is rich and smokey, charred oak, peat reek, medicinal Islay whisky, bonfire, ash, smoked meats, cacao nibs, dark chocolate and plenty of umami. The taste is dry, dark roasted malt, charred oak, bitter - sweet, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, coffee, more restrained smokey character (than on the nose), distant bonfire embers, smoked ham, slightly medicinal, umami, liquorice and a puff of pipe tobacco with a drying, roasty finale. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Smokey is more contained on the taste. Lovely depth of flavours and unique character. Very well done.

Can. 2026 brew 5.4%. Pours a dark hazy orange colour with a tight white head, plenty of hops and citrus fruits in the aroma, the taste is medium bitterness with hints of sherry, with a dry bitter finish.

Taste - orange zest, light grass, ripe melon and mango. Only a hint of grassiness this time.
Palate - medium bodied, good texture, zesty and then bitter finish.
Overall - good example of the style.
