Bottle. Clear medium yellow with a short, fizzy, white head rapidly diminishing. The aroma is malty sweet with notes of grain and toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. Not a lot of taste, but there is some bread and corn. Finishes dry. Not terribly offensive, but not a lot to this beer.

12oz bottle. Pale, filtered, dull tanned-yellow color. Patchy, thin, frothy head retains itself rather well. Doughy inoffensive non-aroma. Not bad, maybe a little conservative on the hops, but otherwise a pretty standard European Lager, which probably tastes that much better in Ethiopia. Sugary, but light enough on the palate, with a simple zesty hop balance. Surprisingly OK.

Bottled. Clear yellow color, short head. Aroma of some grain, corn, slight hop. Watery taste. Probably when drank ice-cold in the Ethiopian summer, it would be a delight.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Awash Restaurant (East Village), 2/12/10
Overall Impression: Fairly standard lager. It doesn't offer much to make it standout, but it is drinkable. I'm now up to 2 total ratings for Ethiopia, both from the same dinner. I liked the other one a touch better just because it was a little different, this one was very standard, and did not have a lot to it.

Second beer of the night while out for Ethiopian in NYC. Pours hazy yellow with a grassy notes, slight acidity, and a little syrupyness. Nothing special but again enjoyable enough to get by with the Ethiopian food
