16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/18/2019. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy lemons, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, clove, coriander, mint, dill, green tea, wheat, cracker, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of pine, banana, bubblegum, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, lemon peel, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy lemons, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, clove, coriander, mint, dill, green tea, wheat, cracker, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of pine, banana, bubblegum, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and light wheat/fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, lemon peel, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly tangy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. No warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an awesome fruited/hoppy saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, lemon peel, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink, with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Awesomely well rounded Saison yeast complexity; with balanced juicy/vibrant, fairly dank/earthy Lemondrop hops and lemon peel flavors; and a great pale/wheat malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example as expected.

Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, moderate oak barrels, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast notes; with great strength. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, moderate oak barrels, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet, and yeast/oak/spiciness balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is a fantastic barrel aged spiced Belgian stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, moderate oak barrels, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish; fantastically soft feel. Perfect balance of rich malts and vibrant spice flavors; with great oak barrel presence/integration, and restrained Belgian house yeast notes. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing experimental style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

Zero warming alcohol for 6.1%. Overall this is a delicious spiced Belgian winter warmer style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish, great soft feel. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, cherry, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, rum, coconut, toasted oak, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of peppercorn, clove, herbal, grass, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Slight rum booze as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bready malts, dark sugars, fruity/light spicy yeast, and rum barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge raisin, plum, fig, cherry, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, rum, coconut, toasted oak, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of peppercorn, clove, herbal, grass, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 10%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing rum barrel aged quadrupel! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts, dark sugars, fruity/light spicy yeast, and rum barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mildly spicy/tannic/drying finish. Perfectly balanced rich malts/sugars, Belgian yeast, and Rum barrel presence/integration. Never boozy, tannic, or overly drying on the barrel. Not overly sweet/heavy from dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier style example as expected. Did not really prefer it over the base beer overall; but this is one of the best Rum barrel beers I've had, because the rum booziness is near none.

I’m a sucker for juniper or spruce but many time I’m disappointed. This was not a disappointment but not a “must find again.” Very drinkable. Nice balance between the Belgian that BV does so well and the juniper.

Bottle shared by Andrew, thanks! Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a bit of funky fruits with a bit of tart fruits and a hint of oak. Flavor has light tart fruits with some grains and a bit of funk underlying.

Very hazy golden and light peach coloured body with a large, rather soapy four to five centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of grass, citrus, light grain and a good deal of fresh cut grass, light bread and a heavy hand of flowers as well as a pungent belgian yeast strain, all with a good deal of wheat in the mix. Medium--bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong grass and herbal flavours throughout with a large yeast and especially wheat presence along with some softer sugars, mainly from fruits - especially oranges and curacao with a dose of dry funk on the finish, seemingly from the yeast. Aftertaste shows the fruit and sweet notes at first with the oranges front and centre and finishes with more of the yeast and wheat than I expected, but very nice, especially considering the balance. Overall, a pretty nice witbier with a good spice and sweet profile, but balanced nicely by both the yeast and wheat. This handled the age well, which is very nice considering it was in a can! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Merchant's in Dearborn, Michigan on 10-December-2016 for US$2,29 sampled just over two years later on 26-February-2019 at home in Washington.

Midtown tasting. Dark nrown pour, just a little foam on the top. Nose has cocoa, bit of toffee, blackberries and light wheaty feel to it. Tastes fruity, tart but with some cocoa and chocolaty coffee feel to it as well. Weird and unusual, dry hoppy finish there. Fruity blackcurrant jam linger in the finish, but oily and rather bitter. Oh, alcohol is super well hidden, drinks much easier than it should.

Overall this is an amazing dry hopped sour/wild ale! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, oak barrels, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/acidic/tangy/spicy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Extremely juicy/vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy Citra/Amarillo hops; with perfectly balanced Brett/Bacteria complexity, oak barrel presence/integration, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing spot on style example. Definitely their best sour yet.
