(473ml can from the brewery) Pours opaque milky medium yellow with a thick white head and heavy lace. Aroma of unripe pineapple, lemon peel, grapefruit, cannabis, wet leaves, touch of green onion, earth. Flavour is off-dry, bright but not overly fruity, lemon, white grapefruit, unripe pineapple, citrus pith, touches of citric acidity even, a little dank cannabis, soft doughy malt, clean yeast, a bit of stone fruit in the finish with some resin and pale citrus peels, aftertaste is lightly bitter and peppery. Medium-bodied, fairly creamy, soft carbonation. Dank-ish, not a juice bomb, somewhat as expected given this hop bill though even for these hops it's not reflecting their jucier sides. Well-made if not quite to my taste.

(On tap @ the brewery, April 22/23) Pours very dark brown with a dense medium tan nitro cap. Aroma is super coffee-forward as expected, and the coffee is on the fruity side with berries, dark pit fruit, flowers, and some almost funky earthy tones from the anaerobic fermentation - this is joined by light to moderately roasted malts giving lightly sweetened chocolate, toast and more earthiness, nice presence of maple but it's not overpowering. Flavour is moderately sweet at best despite the maple and lactose, and again very centered on fruity, earthy, slightly funky and floral coffee framed by a moderate roast body giving chocolate, dark bread and toast without much acidity, maple is there but more for flavour than sugar. Finish is long, coffee-forward, earthy, a bit floral, vanilla tones, and the nice accent of maple lingers into the aftertaste. Medium-bodied, quite creamy from the nitro. I get why this isn't everyone's cup of coffee since it's, well, very coffee-foward and certainly not heavy pastry. As a coffee lover it worked very well for me.

(On tap @ the brewery, April 22/23) Pours near-opaque dark yellow with a thick yellowish head and lightly sedimeted lace. Aroma is bright and juicy, notes of banana, lime and pale citrus, mango, bright tree fruit, some flowers. Flavour is lightly sweet and lightly tart, certainly quite some ripe banana at the core but also bright lime, gooseberry, sweet floral fruit, navel orange, semi-ripe mango, nice long finish hitting on lime and gooseberry with floral vanilla poking through. Quite light-bodied for a smoothie, softly carbonated, a bit creamy, feels almost like an IPA in the mouth compared to others in the series. Really nice flavours, interesting combination and carambola plays well with these friends but missing a lot of mouthfeel (especially with banana in it).

(On tap @ the brewery, Apr 22/23) Pours fairly hazy orange-gold with a thick white head and lace. Notes of honeydew melon, grass, fresh leaves, underripe yellow fruit, woodsy/earthy tones, off-dry through the sip with light cereal presence and fairly clean-feeling yeast, finishing dry and lightly bitter with prominent grassy/herbal tones, more earth and a little light spice (though no hop burn), some melon persisting into the finish but not super fruity. Medium-bodied, lightly slick, soft to moderate carbonation. Solid but I didn't find it jumped out to me, a little muted albiet well-balanced.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Apr 22/23) Pours a very hazy bright orange gold with a tight white cap and good lace. Aroma and flavour both heavy on more floral tropical fruits like ripe papaya, guava and pale melons, backed by stone fruit juiciness and light to moderate grapefruit. Lightly doughy pale malt base, off-dry, fruity yeast, finish semi-dry with low bitterness but a lot of floral guava and papaya, dried flowers, edging on soapy. Medium-plus mouthfeel, quite slick, softly carbonated. Quite good though I'd (as usual) prefer the floral notes to contribute slightly less soapiness. Following NZH-214 with interest now though.

(473ml can from the brewery) Pours opaque medium orange with a decent stable head of fine white bubbles and some lace. Aroma of fresh ultra-ripe mango, sugary and sticky, floral vanilla, some grapefruit and navel orange pulp, soft cannabis, herbal Sabro with a touch of coconut. Flavour is rather sweet for an IPA, milkshake (sans lactose? can and IG disagree) with ripe mango to the forefront, lots of vanilla, navel orange, pineapple accents, citrus peel, herbal leafy Sabro building from mid sip, some coconut creaminess joining the vanilla towards the finish, mango and Sabro into the aftertaste, lingering vanilla florals as well, finish is semi-dry and low bitterness with a little sub-peppery Lupomax vibe. Light to medium body, slightly creamy, fairly soft carbonation. Like a more fruit-forward version of BdBC's Los Tabernacos, vanilla vs. coco of course. Good stuff.

(473ml can from the brewery) Pours opaque murky orange-gold with a decent white head and light lace. Aroma is blueberry candy, exotic citrus, leafy herbs, hop cone peppery vibes. Flavour is off-dry, very hop-forward, berries, sweet lemon and navel orange, some exotic citrus too, touches of pineapple, soursop, a little perfumed flower vibe, lots of peppery hop cones but rather little of the actual green onion vibes which is nice, clean yeast, wheat/oat malt character, finish is bone dry, lightly bitter, citrus peels, very leafy, touches of cannabis, herbs. Medium body, somewhat creamy, average carbonation. Less of a juice bomb and more aggressive in its hopping, not very aromatic. Still fun, nice NZ Cascade character working with the classics.

(473ml can from the brewpub) Pours opaque milky pale yellow with a decent stable white head and heavy lace. Aroma is fresh dank peppery Citra, of course, dank mango and mixed pale citrus, cannabis, catty vibes, leafy accents, light doughy malt. Flavour is lightly sweet, tangerine, mango, white grape, a little stone fruit, lime peel, cannabis, retiring doughy malt, drying into the finish with a little mineralogy, again some mango and lightly sweet tangerine, but pretty dominated by cannabis, herbal peppery hop cones and citrus peel bitters. A little hop burn but under control. Medium-bodied, pretty creamy, below average carb. Excellent NEIPA, bold expression of Citra as you'd expect...fun to get this sort of varietal character without a bunch of advanced hop products (it seems).

(473ml can from the brewpub) Very hazy orange-gold pour with a thick eggshell cap that fades slowly leaving lace. Aroma is very ripe and juicy tropical/floral in quality, intense Strata melons but not over-soapy for once, creamy tropicals like guava, undertones of orange oil and grapefruit peel, a little dank, bready sweet malts. Flavour is semi-sweet up front, tangerine and navel orange peel, a little lemon, citrus pith, pale melon, crushed flowers, a little bitter citrus, softly bready malt, a little honey, finish is quite dry and a bit astringent, unfortunately the soapy florals of Strata are a bit too heavy as is often the case, orange peel is pretty prominent as well, a little edge of oniony heat despite being >1mo, alcohol warmth, some earthy pine, long aftertaste. Medium-bodied, oily to creamy, soft carbonation. All things considered this is very good, I don't love Strata much of the time but this keeps most of its worst tendencies largely in check save the finish.

(473ml can from the brewery) Pours near opaque medium yellow with a thick eggshell head and heavy lace. Aroma is both citrusy and 'green', with intense notes of bitter orange, (garrigue-type?) herbs and earthy pine backed by brighter tropical notes of mango and pineapple. Flavour is dry and relatively bitter, heavy on unsweetened orange oil, citrus pith, earthy pine though not too heavily resinous, a bit of cannabis, again garrigue herbs and oregano, lightly bready malt with a bit of cereal character, bone dry into the finish with bitter orange peel, pith, earthy slightly perfumed herbs, amaro-like bitterness, pine without resin again, no real hop burn, long astringent herbal finish. Medium-body, slick to slightly creamy, average carbonation. Very different and quirky IPA, with the bitter citrus peel and heavy herbal component, the whole thing reminded me as much of an amaro as an IPA. Different but cool.
