(473ml can from Superette du Diner, Quebec City) Pours very hazy deep gold with a decent white head and a little lace. Aroma has lots of creamy ester-heavy fruit, syrupy pineapple, banana, sweet guava, some pale citrus, tingling but not biting resin behind it. Flavour is sweet and juicy with sugary pineapple, sweetened grapefruit/lemon and some tangerine, musky floral tropical stuff like guava lurking, fairly fruity yeast, lightly bready malt, heavy floral pithy citrus resins (grapefruit etc) in the finish, . Medium-bodied, moderate-plus carbonation, touch creamy. Bit of an odd hop profile to this, not really unexpected I guess with the hop bill but not quite to my taste on the finish in particular. Well-brewed however, good saturation etc.

(473ml can from masoif.com) Pours very hazy medium gold with a thick white head that's very stable and leaves heavy lace. Aroma is super-fruity and very NZ, big hits of kiwi, white grape, green gooseberry, sweet guava, lime candy, some cannabs. Flavour is off-dry at best, bright and juicy despite the limited sweetness, lots of white wine grape highlighting candied cured pale citrus (lemon/lime), kiwi, pineapple, mixed fragrant but not heavily musky tropical fruit, smooth doughy malt with clean and fairly neutral yeast, finish is zero bitterness, long and fruity with white grape and floral tropical fruit, less dank than typical Riwaka maybe but with a little weed edge for kicks. Medium-bodied, between creamy and oily, soft smooth carbonation. Super-smooth, balanced, full of NZ flavour. Awesome DIPA.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Limoilou, Feb 11/23) Pours very hazy deep gold with a decent white head and good lace. Aroma is wonderfully intense, fuzzy peach candy and ripe peaches if rendered as a cannabis strain thanks to heavy waves of dank leafy NZ vibes, touch vinous and earthy, soft bready malt underneath. Flavour matches the nose, lightly sweet and heavily hopped up front, rich notes of fuzzy peach candy and ripe peaches, a certain peach skin quality too that's softly bitter, a bit of lime zest in the back, heavy leafy Nelson, dank for sure, a bit earthy, not skunky like Citra, smooth lightly bready malt, good yeast fruitiness, not-quite-chalky drydown with light but grippy bitterness, lots of peach and dank leafy stuff in the finish, no hop burn. Medium-bodied, slick to creamy, fairly soft carbonation. After 9e Marche this is another excellent Southern Hemi hop shake from them.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Limoilou, Feb 11/23) Pours opaque medium orange with a slight pinkish tinge and a stable pale orange head with lightly pulpy lace. Aroma is leading with sugared blood orange and ripe banana, nice melange of musky florals coming from the ensemble of tropical fruit, really rich layers to it, feels sweet and only lightly tart on the nose. Flavour is lightly sweet and nicely tart, quenching blood orange core balanced by the richness of banana, bright pineapple much more prominent than the nose, the mix of passionfruit, guava and guanabana gives a rich musky floral quality for sure, very complex with light lactose input only, finish is banana-forward with a lot of intense floral tropical fruit. Medium-full mouthfeel, soft carb, nice and pulpy for a 'yellow fruit' smoothie. Excellent, summer in a glass in the middle of winter.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Limoilou, Feb 11/23) Pours opaque deep reddish with a pink-white head and pulpy lace. Aroma is quite fruity as expected, a lot of rich earthy cassis jam, a bit vinous, pears are definitely present with floral tones blending with the vanilla, raspberry is pleasantly in the back seat but is definitely amping up the fruitiness by countering the leaner aspects of the other fruits. Flavour follows the nose, rich in cassis preserves and with raspberry in the backseat but preventing too much astringency or tannin overload, the pears and vanilla supporting with a sweet floral aspect to keep the overall balance sweet-tart. Finish is just lightly tannic and grippy, pears and raspberries show up a bit more but cassis structure still dominating. Medium-bodied for style, mostly avoids the grittiness of some pear smoothies, soft carbonation. Excellent atypical berry smoothie action here, enjoyed it a lot.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Limoilou, Feb 11/23) Pours rather hazy pale yellow with a decent white head and light lace. Aroma of kinda phenolic(?) Citra, a bit sharp and mango resin-ish, some brighter tropical fruit notes there but not really punchy pineapple, some pale citrus peel, light dankness. Flavour is rather light overall, lightly sweet and lightly tart, again this sort of sharp Citra resin quality, naturally tart pineapple dashes, mixed florals, grapefruit, crackery cereals, rather watery, very dry and moderately bitter into the finish, quite chalky minerals, astringent, quite soapy (guava?), lemon/grapefruit peel, a little pineapple juice. Light watery body, moderate plus carbonation, thin. Not a big fan, fine enough but the fruit additions did not mesh and it wasn't a match for their regular IPAs or fruit beers.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours very hazy medium gold, thick white head with some lace. Aroma is super-NZ, lots of thick white grape, floral tropical fruit (guava etc), sticky dried mango, heavy dank leafy vibes, white grapefruit peel, Phantasm-like thiols, doughy oat/wheat malt. Flavour is lighty sweet and again loaded with white grape, white grapefruit, guava, heavy thiols, dank AF, sticky mango and resin underneath, peppery intensity to the dankness, malt is quite dry and doughy without a ton of residual sugar which nicely supports the grapey, thiol-laden and white wine heavy hop load nicely. Fruity all the way into the finish, thiol party, round fruity yeast, guava and mango with lightly sugared grapefruit, aromatic white wine squeeze, dank peppery vibes behind it all. Dry finish with lingering tropical florals and citrus over a spicy-dank moderate bitterness. Far and away the best Nano Cinco hops to date, takes a hot minute to really open up but then it's a balanced beast. Huge NZ-forward hop bill, Riwaka and Nelson of course pulling weight but NZ Cascade is surely in there too.

(973ml crowler from the brewpub) Pours opaque pumpkin orange with a pale orange-white head that fades leaving heavy pulpy lace. Aroma is overripe sweet earthy-dank mango, almost funky, some nice ripe apricot there too, musky floral lychee is definitely underlying it if you’re looking for it. Flavour is juicy sweet and only lightly tart, heavy orange juice-like ripe mango pulp up front, the rich sweet-tart apricot is propping it up, lychee really breaking through in the finish with nice musky florals and a little fruit-funk to it. Aftertaste is lychee-forward ultra-dense orange juice. Mouthfeel is medium-full, pulpy, moderately carbed for a smoothie, distracting chunks of what seem to be lychee peel/skin towards the end of the glass in particular. Declicious flavours and aromas, as good as can be for a 'yellow' smoothie - nearly brilliant. Just get that weird texture from the lychee out, it felt like they weren't peeled?

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours very hazy medium gold with a decent white head and thick lace. Aroma is Citra-forward as you'd expect, ripe mango flesh, tangy though not peppery onion dankness from the Lupomax, some navel orange and tangerine backing, Simcoe showing up with earthy conifer and grapefruit bitters. Flavour is not as sweet and fruity as you might expect from the nose, leaner citrus meeting the mango past halfway, a little pineapple, grapefruit floral bitters feel Simcoe-ish as does the spruce resin, very soft cereal malts, yeast is quite neutral, very dry into the finish which is oniony but not green without hop burn, grapefruit and some earth into the aftertaste, slightly mineral. Light bodied, touch watery, very soft carb. Good but not quite on the level I think they're capable of, lacking a little in both mouthfeel and flavour concentration.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours quite lightly hazed bright gold with a thick and very stable white head and some lace. Aroma is ripe peaches and nectarines as expected from the hop duo, some sweet orange juice and pulp, smoothly bready cereal malt profile, nice floral grapefruit peel bitters behind. Flavour is very ripe real peaches and nectarines that just abut candy territory, orange nd softly sugared grapefruit pulp, smooth slightly tropical floral backbeats, off-dry pale malt that's bready/biscuity without much obvious oat/wheat character, finish is dry with peach flesh and skin, a little pale candied citrus, grapefruit peels, quite low bitterness. Medium bodied, very oily, fine carbonation. Interesting, in some ways reminiscent of the OG NEIPA before it turned to opaque hop-shake territory, but more fruity than dank and with less scalding bitterness. Unique and very nice for its Nectaron component.
