Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, tan head that shows about a single centimetre in height and not much movement underneath. Aroma of pitted fruits, rich caramelised sugars, a bunch of earth and nuttiness with some bright prunes and plums and a good raisin kick at the end - very strong in the nose. Full-bodied; Rich, earthy and nutty malts dominate with some cereal and grainy kick that has some musty, slightly mushroomy and meaty notes, but some light pitted fruits hit at the end, with a bit of dryness from the malts. Aftertaste is pretty robust and well-rounded with a bit of graininess from the malts and a lot of cereal in the finish with some smooth sugars, although not as much as I expected, and some definite yeastie components, but nothing too strong or pungent. Overall, a decent enough beer, but obviously not as complex, rich or flavourful as 'real' Quads from Belgium, but that was expected. This was a nice option, considering that I'd never think I'd see this style attempted in this country, nor expect to find this in a grocery store, but it was a welcome option with other lighter beers as the norm here. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Wong [grocery store] in San Isidro, Lima, Peru on 01-August-2022 for S./ 12,90 sampled in my hotel room here in Miraflores, Lima, Peru on 06-August-2022.

Deep purple coloured body with a relatively large three to four centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of very sweet corn and caster sugar notes with a lot of grassy and herbal notes with a tiny bit of biscuity malts and even some yeast/bread here in the nose as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong wheatie and yeastie notes dominate with a lot of corn flavours of course and a good deal of residual sugars and a bite from bread at the very end, but no hops or bitterness to balance out the richness from the sugars. Aftertaste shows the perfumey and grainy notes with the corn and sugars right behind with a slight creamy note and a dry, grassy note at the end, but the sweetness is pervasive. Overall, a decent beer with a lot of perfume and grassy notes, but the corn, extra sweetness from honey and caster sugar and the creaminess make this robust and a bit cloying. I sampled this 33 cL bottle, purchased from Wong [grocery store] in Miraflores, Lima, Peru on 03-August-2022 for S./9,89, with a 'best by' date (F.V.) of 27-May-2023 and sampled in my hotel room here with my wife and three kids in Miraflores, Lima, Peru on 04-August-2022.

12oz pint at Nuevo Mundo at Parque Kennedy pours a very murky brick red with some creamy slightly off white head. Nose has apple sauce, orange, some under ripe pear, mild soap, a little caramel. Flavor is sweet with malt and caramel, chewy grain, soap, some blood orange, some mild spicy rye. Dry finish. Another beer that seems to be fermented a bit hot.
