Description
In 1728, Aspall was founded by Clement Chevallier in the parish of Aspall, Suffolk. While all around him were growing cereals, he chose to plant apple trees. Almost 300 years on, we’re still going against the grain, making remarkable cyder & cyder vinegars at the original Aspall Cyder House.

330 ml capped bottle, from Bunnpris Gourmet Middelthon. ABV is 4.6%. Extremely pale yellow colour, pours fizzy with a white head that actually lasts a while. Strong aroma of oxidised cider apples, notes of sulphites and oak. Medium dry (or medium sweet, if you like) flavour of cider apples, with some less pleasant sourish and "artificial" notes. Thin mouthfeel. Hints of sulphites and oak. Drinkable, but clearly not Aspall’s best cider.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear yellow with a fizzy white head. Clean, fresh apple aroma. Medium body, heavy carbonation, distinct appley, somewhat harsh with a sulphur note, a little astringent. Boozy finish. Serious stuff, but a little hard to drink. 180911
