Bottle 37,5 cl. Pours a cloudy amber with an off-white head. Acetic acid and noble rot dominates the aroma. Medium body, very sharp acetic acid, somewhat flawed wooden notes and a moldy touch. Clearly they are trying to do a Flemish Brown which is one of the world's most complex and difficult styles to get right as there's so many things at play at the same time. They have cme a long way, but it's not quite there yet. 240820

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a thick and oily opaque black with a small, light brown head. Soft roastiness in the nose with a very subtle hint of rum. Rich, thick, fatty and sirupy sweet body. Solid sweet roast and soy. You can detect this has been on a barrel, but as so often rum has very little impact in beer leaving very little reconizable impact. Warming finish. Great base beer, but the barrel doesnt really take it any further. 190820

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, fruity hoppy, slightly roasty, dark malty and minimally spicy aroma, notes of coffee, some orange, vanilla, a touch of toffee, minimally waxy hopy overtones; absurdely a slight muesli character (fruit and cereals) overall. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally sugary, dark malty, fruity hoppy, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, orange, a touch of toffee, vanilla; well hidden alcohol. Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, soft, foamy carbonation. Well crafted, not really harmonious.

Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Aroma of orange and grapefruit peel with peach and a touch of funk. Dry fruity and light funky flavour with a drying and mild bitter finish.

Bottle, 66cl. A rather oily pour leaves a black beer and a creamy tan head. Cute lacing. Roasted malts, burnt notes, wood, asphalt, some alcohol and coffee, dark chocolate and something vinous. Hints of dark dried fruits. It's full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, with a decent bitterness and sweetness. Roasted malts, booze, wood, chocolate and some dried fruits in the flavor, with a touch of brown sugar and ashtray. Lasting malt driven finish. Quite delicious, and dangerously easy drinkable. 200407

Sample from 50 cl bottle. Pitch black with a thin tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, liqourice, coffee, milk chocolate, herbal hoppy notes. Taste is bitter. Medium to full body. Drying roasted finish. Nice.
