On tap at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Nice nose of dark chocolate, coffee, raisin, treacle toffee, caramel. Taste is dark chocolate, peat, caramel, more treacle toffee, oak, cocoa. Boizy sweet warming finish. Nice.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A dark copper coloured pour with a rim of white froth; fruity malt aroma; dry earthy malt taste with some purple fruit; then some caramel and a light bitterness to finish. If the pump clip didn’t say this is a Pale Ale, I would have put it down as a Mild, and a jolly good one too.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 14th December 2025. Deep ruby black with pale tan foam and spot lacing. Roasted malt aroma. Fruity and roasty in-mouth. Roasty malt finish. Light body and a rather fizzy mouthfeel.

On tap at The Green Goddess.,Blackheath Royal Standard. Nose is lemon, grapefruit, quite peppery. Unmistakably crisp citrusy taste with a light spicy edge. Solid Pils.

On tap at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Nose is chocolate biscuit, raisin. Taste is flat cola, chocolate biscuit, caramel, some dark fruits. Bitter malty action. Good stuff.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A dark chestnut coloured pour with a loose cream coloured head; aroma of malt and hay; earthy taste with some sweet malts followed by a touch of hospital disinfectant; then a caramel hazelnut finish. A satisfying pint.

Nose is roast malts, chocolate, toffee, dried fruit esters.
Taste comprises dark malts, a good roasty profile, charr, spice, toffee.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close.
Solid cask porter.
