[Cask at the Greyfriar, Reading.] A pale straw coloured pour with a ring of white head; melon aroma; soft and soapy in the mouth with a sweet grainy body and a dry floral taste; then a fresh leafy bitterness in the finish. Pleasingly different.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 25 Nov 2024) Golden colour with creamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grass, grapefruit, resin, wheat crackers and a balanced citric/grassy bitterness in the finish. Light body, quite dry. Smooth, tasty and refreshing. Very nice.

Draught keg at the Canalhouse, Nottingham. Lightish gold, a bit of haze, a swirl of white head. The aroma is sour pear overcome by sweet marzipan. It's more of a battle than a union. In the mouth the battle feels like an all out war, although the clash between sweet and sour works somehow. The final finish is quite sour, with notes of applesauce. Carbonation on the heavy side. Odd stuff, wouldn't reach for it again but it is passable here.

Can ordered from Prost, Bebington. Aroma is reassuringly resinous and bitter. Some fruit for a marmalade effect. A slightly opaque tint to the amber body. Foamy white head. Bitter. Heavy on a scale of not heavy to heavy. Resin. Underlying juicy citrus. Spice. It's that marmalade which I love on a beer but really wouldn't welcome on my toast (white). Light-medium bodied. Slick. Relaxed soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. I like.
