33cl bottle from Intermarché Super et Drive, Stenay, France. F: medium, off-white, quick gone to thin film. C: amber, light hazy. A: malty, caramel, bready, alcohol touch, bit vaguely fruity, spicy touch. T: sweet malty, bit bready, simple caramel, alcohol touch, nice idea of the old recipe yet beer itself is not so impressive, without flows and like biere de garde for me, medium body and low carbonation, drinkable.

T: quite malty, caramel, bready, toast, dry on the palate, bit biscuits, bit herbal, taste is bit better than aroma yet still very simple to me but ok for the style may be, medium body and lower carbonation, drinkable.

From a local market in Bains-les-Bains. Hazy medium amber colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma toasted malts, caramel, candy sugar, maple syrup, hay. Taste light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, hopjes, candy sugar. Retronasal herbal/medicinal notes, sweet aftertaste, malty and sugary, warming alcohol, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, strong amber ale, nice.

Bottle from some French supermarket shared at home. Slight hazy darker golden with white head. Sweet caramel, old bread, dust, cardboard, light puke, fish, leather, dried fruits, bitter old wood. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with slick dry feel and fizzy carbonation. Very bad.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A dark brown beer with a mid-sized good lasting off-white head. Aroma of dark brown malt, caramel, nuts, some lactose. Taste of dark mild roasted malt, cacao, vanilla, lactose, not bad!

The beer starts smooth with sourish malty hints. Smooth and refreshing, not much depth, caramel, grain, brown sugar on a quite watery refreshing body. Long sugary malty aftertaste with no bitterness.
