16/5/2024. Bottle shared by the Shropshire boys, cheers. Pours hazy amber bronze with a short lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma os syrupy, fruity, yeast, toffee, pumpkin, biscuit, flowers, ginger, bubblegum. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, slight tart edge. Medium body, oily, quite fizzy. Interesting and enjoyable.

330ml bottle @ Jeremy's place. Misty amber with large off-white head. Noticeable pumpkin sweetness on the nose. Fairly high carb, decent spiced pumpkin presence, balanced sweetness with caramel malt notes. Achieves it's purpose well.

10th April 2024, mega tasting at my place with minutemat, cheers for the 330ml bottle of this little baby. Hazy pumpkin orange, large white crown. Fairly sweet from the start, spiced pumpkins and caramel, enjoyed my slice!

American style pumpkin ale from an unlikely source, bottle from Bontinck in Zele. Seems to contain pumpkin pie spices (as is the intention in this genre) but also actual pumpkin. Frothy, egg-white, thick and stable, shred-like lacing head, initially clear orange-glowing pure amber robe, turning misty and eventually cloudy (even a bit brownish) with sediment. Utterly spiced aroma of clove, clove and again clove, nutmeg and indeed mace, much lighter ginger and cinnamon notes, allspice, dried apricot, chicken or even barbecue spices, rusk, white pepper, spiced bread, cooked chicken. Dryish-fruity onset, dried apricot and apple peel but no overt esteriness, medium carb with supple mouthfeel; smooth rusk- and old biscuit-like maltiness under a heap of spices, clove upfront but allspice, mace and (much less so) cinnamon and ginger powder too, paired with a fairly firm peppery hop bitterness – accentuating the bittering effects of the spices too. I do not normally like overspiced beers, but this one, in its overdose of actual clove, was actually quite refreshing on a hot summer evening, oddly – and more importantly, this Vranckaertshoeve has largely understood the concept of U.S. pumpkin beer, and executed it more or less correctly, though perhaps going a bit too strong in the always powerful clove. Better than expected, really.

Medium, dense snowwhite head over golden-orange beer. Spicy nose, somewhat sulphury malts, lightly coloured, and hints of diacetyl. Diacetyl exploding, together with DMS. almost sourish, but then again reverting to buttery-sweetish. Sticky, medium bodied, good carbonation. Meuhhh!! From De Cazeau, this? They do usually better. Thanks to Stef!

330ml bottle @ Last Beer Tasting Before Lockdown 2.0, Chez Sophie, Oct 20. Thanks Jeremy for this! Misty golden amber, fluffy white head. Passable tripel overall. Not bad, nicely sweet, pleasantly fruity with soft yeasty murmurs.. just not hitting the high notes.
