Medium white head. Hazy deep yellow body with vigourous carbonation. Light fruity aroma, very neutral. Dryish fruity milky taste, flat and neutral. Mid-bodied. Dry watery mealy aftertaste with grassy notes. Decent, but very neutral and boring for a Belgian. (0.33l bottle, Beer Palace, Oslo.)

Small offwhite head. Deep dark ruby red body. Light toffeeish fruity aroma with sugary yoghurty wild berry notes. Dry roasty licorice taste with earthy toffee and almond notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dryish yoghurty roasty wooden aftertaste with spicy notes. Overall quite dry. Feels a bit more like a lager than a dubbel, but is not bad. Much better when not cold. draft - Pours medium brown with a lasting off white head and good lacing. It has a yeasty aroma with malt that has a touch of caramel. The taste is sweet caramel malt, yeast, and some light bitterness toward the end. It’s medium bodied and all round a good though pretty plain dubbel.

draft - Pours clear golden with a white head and good lacking. The aroma is light yeast and pale malt. It has a moderately sweet taste with some light hop bitterness in the finish. Light bodied with a good balance, it’s an easy drinking session brew.

(Cask at Penderel’s Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 19 Apr 2009) Cloudy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, yeasty nose with notes of peaches and lemon. A hint of smoke as well. Fruity, yeasty taste with citrus, peaches and a fairly sweet, spicy finish. Not very bitter. Slightly above medium body, rather sweet. A decent Belgian blond.

[33cl bottle from Beer52] A straw coloured pour with a loose white head; aroma of yeast and banana; strong banana flavour with a thick, almost syrupy body; and some cloves and citrus on the finish. Rather good.

Cask, Hoylake Lights, JDW. Hazy gold with a minimal white head. Aroma was yeasty with fruit notes, themes that continued in the flavour which was fairly sweet and spicy. Unremarkable belgian that is drinkable yet dull.

Cask at The Exchange, JDW, Banbury, Oxon, 20-04-09 Pours light to mid gold with a white head, some light alcohol wafts from the nose along with sweet malt. Taste is a little sweet, malty, spicy and with a good dollop of yeast, nice beer. A6 A3 F7 P3 Ov14 3.3

Cask-conditioned at the Berkeley (JDW), Bristol 19/04/09. Clear gold with next to no head. Big tropical fruit flavours, with plenty of sweetness, some spicing and a hint of yeast. Finish was dry with plenty of crystallised citrus fruit. Ok.
