Bottle from Beer in a Box. Chocolate and roasted malt with soft infused Bourbon. Picking up notes of coffee, touch of ash, could have used a bit more bourbon. That being said overall nice by-the-books classic RIS.

Draft at De Paas, Den Haag. Poured almost black in colour with a big, lasting, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, caramel, burnt treacle. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, roasty, creamy, liquorice, dark chocolate, light boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

From tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Man what a throwback, thick resinous Amarillo hop on steroids. Malty with caramel, sugary orange, sticky pine resin, some alcohol. Potent bittersweet flavour, strong and sticky. Reminds me of old skool US DIPA or hoppy Red Ale.

Bottle shared with Joen. Amber color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, hmm odd, plant-like flavors, spruce, bitters. Meh. Not up to par with the usual Menno beers. Weird.
