From tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Man what a throwback, thick resinous Amarillo hop on steroids. Malty with caramel, sugary orange, sticky pine resin, some alcohol. Potent bittersweet flavour, strong and sticky. Reminds me of old skool US DIPA or hoppy Red Ale.

Bottle shared with Joen. Amber color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, hmm odd, plant-like flavors, spruce, bitters. Meh. Not up to par with the usual Menno beers. Weird.

Tap at Indewildeman, Amsterdam, 2nd December 2025. Pours a deep black and viscous ale. Aroma is chocolate and malts. Taste is sweet, rich chocolate, light spice, cocoa.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 17 Aug 2025) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with liquorice, herbs, anise, fennel and black bread. Malty, slightly roasted taste with notes of caramel, liquorice, herbs, anise, coffee, cardamom, oak wood and a mild herbal bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich and quite interesting, with lots of liquorice, herbs and decent splash of alcohol ... on steroids. Very nice.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 16 Aug 2025) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffe, dark chocolate, oak wood, whisky and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread, oak wood, Islay whisky and a generous coffee bitterness. Full body, with a touch of sweetness. Rich and tasty, with a generous whisky barrel character. Very nice.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Black, no head. Tart nose with sour raspberries, vinegar, peat and butter. Puckering sourwith near full body. Frozen raspberries, peat and licorice. Warming finish.
