Bomber from State Line. Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of tropical hops, mangos, herbal notes almost to the point of being salty. The taste is hoppy... herbal, citrus, lemongrass. Medium bodied.

Pours deep amber with thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a mix of dark roasted malts, black strap molasses and then rolling into a pleasing and inviting level of peanut butter. Cool. The taste delivers some sweet molasses and black licorice initially. About midway a modest peanut butter note joins in and takes this into the finish. Pretty nice.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 9/5/12

Aroma: The nose is sweet and roasty malts, with vanilla, caramel, toffee, and burnt notes
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a light brown head and medium-plus lace
Flavor: The taste is also sweet and roasted malts, with some fruity flavors, and light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has a creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and a dry, roasted finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice offering from DuClaw. I wouldn't go way out of my way looking for it, but if in the Baltimore area and the opportunity presents itself, I'd recommend trying it.

The medium gold body easily supports a tall, long lasting head of white. Sweet ripe citrus aroma. Lightly bitter flavor, a firm dryness moves in quickly and builds into the finish. Not a hop monster, but firmly dry and bitter start to finish.

Tap at Max’s Taphouse, Baltimore - 22/05/12. Dark brown approaching black with a medium tan head. Big chocolate nose, lots of roasted malt backing this up, puff of smoke to finish. Tastes marry nose allied to a little dark fruit and a hint of vanilla. Didn’t really get the rye! Medium bodied, little carbonation, good smooth finish.

Aroma: The nose is mostly roasted malts/coffee, with some chocolate and some raspberry
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a small, fizzy beige head, and some occasionally spotty lace
Flavor: While the nose leans heavier on the roasted/coffee malts, the chocolate and the raspberry really come though a lot more in the flavor. The coffee is still there, but it moves to the background, as the sweetness comes out. The flavor is fairly sweet, though not cloying, and it actually reminds me quite a bit of those Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Squares, though it isn't quite to that level of sweetness.
Palate: It is fairly light bodied, a hint watery, it is smooth, and has a decent, though slightly weak mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Overall, there were some good things going on here. I mean this one is clearly a 1 (OK, 3) dimensional beer, but those 3 elements (chocolate, raspberry, and coffee) all worked pretty well together. I would have liked a little more substantive body, but overall, the feel is solid. This was a very solid, sweet, "dessert-type" of beer. I enjoyed it more then I expected that I would.

Weak orange peel nose. Clear orange, thin yellow head. Surprisingly strong flavor of whole orange, peanut hulls. Orange peel finish. Strong, full flavored, but medium bodied, not heavy.

Cinnamon, clove, cherry, and malt nose. Clear copper, thin head. Soft mouthfeel. Light allspice flavor, neutral malt. Alcohol not terribly noticeable. Strange but in a good way.
