A pretty solid barleywine- poured reddish-brown, with a medium light tan creamy head. Hoppy aroma (classic grapefruit/pine tango) with alcohol and underlying caramels. Hoppy flavor with nice caramels, dark fruit (prune and cherry to an extent), and alcohol. Not as thick and sticky as my favorite barleywines, but a nice beer nonetheless.

Re-rate: Black colour with rich brown head. Big aroma positively stings with roast. The body is smooth with chocolatey, coffee notes and a warming bourbon finish. Balanced, nuanced example.
Black colour, brown head. Nutty, chocolatey aroma with a hint of raisin. Rich toffee palate with caramel, earthiness…quite sweet. Alcohol hit comes in late; dark chocolate even later. Ar7 Ap5 F7 P4 O14 = 3.7

Hazy amber. Floral aroma, with some band-aid phenols and a hint of citrusy hop. Sweet body, with a powerful alcohol kick (at 16.4% this is more of a Quintuple!). Slight toastiness, and a hint of plastic round things out. I was never a huge Quad fan - too sweet and alcoholic - so I had trouble getting into such an over-the-top example. Thanks scraff, though, for securing this beast.

Brown-tinged orange. Bursting citric hops (centennial?) evoke wood, grapefruit and lemon. Fat, chewy flavours simultaneously coat your tongue with chocolate malts and citric hops. Smooth...with caramel overtones. A little drippy in terms of hopping, which is the only real complaint. Otherwise quite well-made.
