Draft at Rustico. Poured a golden body, small white head. Aroma was pine notes, sweet caramels, touch of honey I’d suppose? Hops aren’t nearly as big as I expected, but still pretty balanced for a Double IPA. 10% alcohol is hidden quite well.

Awful beer, not even refreshing which is the lowest compliment you can give a wheat ale because that’s there main goal, but this was as bland as bland gets. No imagination at all.

No aroma or flavor to speak of, like something made by miller or coors for an audience that is just getting into micros. Blah city

Bottle. Pours a slightly orange-tinted gold with little head and actively rising carbonation. Aromas are a fairly nice mix of citrusy and tropical hops. Flavor is much better than expected, especially after looking at some of the previous reviews. Sure, the ABV is out in the open and bites a bit, but this is some sort of swamp monster, so biting seems acceptable. The malt presence is light and sweet... kind of like honey with a bit of moonshine added, and the hops swirl around, peeking out from time to time in little bursts of oranges or mangoes, papayas or herbs. In spite of the unbalanced booziness, I found this to be a pretty nice beer.

Bottle. Hazy amber body. Thin, off-white head, slowly diminishing. The aroma has notes of toasted grain and toffee with a hint of honey. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Sweet and grainy taste with a hint of corn. Average.
