Keg at the Swan, Pangbourne. New brewery for me. A gold beer with a gentle haze, a lasting white head and a light fizz. Nice tropical fruits up front - peach and papaya maybe - develop into a tasty clementine middle before sadly collapsing into a rather cardboardy white bread finish. Still quite enjoyable nevertheless.

Clear copper with a finger of white head. Well balanced with malt and dried citrus. Pine too. Finishes really well. Dry, bitter and easy to drink. 7 7 7 8 7

Yesterday's May Day sunshine helped Kew Gardens set a new record for the hottest start to this month in the UK, just short of 30 degrees. Today's 'Sunshine' is a very bland kölsch-style brew (although I've always personally found kölsch very bland anyway).

Can from local Sainsburys. Sweet-ish grains, biscuit. Fair Cologne style lager - can't call it a Kolsch, that's naughty

Tap at Chop shop Tavern, Leyton. Aroma is swet, malty, doughy. Low key. Clear gols. Yhin foamy white head. Flava has spice. Grains. Malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Fine.
