Situated just off the West coast of Scotland the Isle of Arran is arguably one of the most beautiful and dramatic islands in Europe. The splendour and diversity of the landscape has led it to be considered by many as Scotland in miniature. Nestled between the islands largest mountain, Goatfell, and the imposing Brodick Castle lies Arran Brewery which has been brewing award winning craft beer for over two decades.

bottle, from a qine merchant in Seaton/Devon with an exquisite selection of ales. Hazy golden yellow, medium-sized head. Very fruity nose. Full-bodied, very fruity (orange zest, bitter orange) with some lovely bitter and aromatic hops. A pleasure to drink.

Hopfig-süßlicher Geruch, aromatisch. Hopfiger Antrunk, mild, deutlich nach Klostein. Eigen hopfig, etwas komisch und unpassend wirkend. Mild getreidig-hopfig im Abgang, fast wässrig. Danke an Gosingen! Test vom 11.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,8,7,13,7 - 7,60

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Nasty aroma. Tastes dry, somehow woody, unbalanced finish. Very strange!

POurs amber into an English pint. Sickly looking head quickly recedes to hug rim. Sweet and sour tang aromas. Soft with upfront caramel and a lasting pit fruit finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours an almost clear amber golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and....fish? Somehow very British. Light in body, notes of caramel, fruit and vitamin-C - and perhaps some overripe sweet fruit also. Very discreet bitterness in the finish. 160808

Bottled. A light amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of hops and caramel as well as a light touch of grass. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, leading to a dry straw finish, where the note of caramel lingers.

500ml bottle from my father-in-law Dave - cheers! Pours very pale gold with a small but lasting white head. Crisp, clean, refreshing taste, with a hint of grassy hops and a twist of sharp and bitter citrus in the aftertaste. Enjoyable, but lacks depth and tastes a little watery.
