Draught at the brewery
Hazy golden colour. Mild coriander aroma. Robust body, moderately sweet and not cloying, the sugar is balanced by the spicy character of the yeast, by the alcohol and by the bitterness, for a pleasant experience.
A bold beer that could have been brewed in Belgium indeed, not the dry style like Duvel, a rounder kind of Tripel.
Excellent.

473mL can, pours jet back with a medium dark brown head. Nose is full of roasted malt, a little vanilla, some dried dark fruits, and mocha. Flavour is rich and roasty, with thick roasted malt, dates, light vanilla, mocha, and some earthy notes. Thick, somewhat sludgy palate, with a finish of roast and dark fruit. Fairly monstrous on the palate. Not the most complex impie out there, but it's reasonably well-made.

Can from Firefly, Vancouver
Hazy deep blond colour. It's a bit fruity and perfumey, aroma of watermelon and stale bread. The malt flavour is a white good base, some grassy/herbaceous hops, not too exciting but at least it's there; the mouthfeel is a bit oily.
Ok.

Chocolate in the nose. Soft mouthfeel, moderately sweet; salt, umami and a touch of liquorice for flavour.

Black colour, medium beige head. Good body strength, with moderate sweetness, and hiding the alcohol quite well; it's moderately roasty, with a touch of liquorice and salt, some umami; also, a bit too much cardboard and soy sauce.
Good.

Can, from Firefly. Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is all dark fruits and sugars - molasses, burnt sugars, raisins, prunes. No dates, actually. On the palate, this has a really nice richness. Bold fruit notes like caramelized prunes, deep dark sugary accents, good balancing bitterness and acidity. This is a well-rounded imperial stout, reminds me a bit of Sam Smith's. I really appreciate this old school no bullshit approach - which is funny because it's got dates in it, but I really don't taste or smell those anywhere. I'd love an Omani halwa variant of this beer (i.e. smoked, cardamom, rosewater, etc.).

473mL can, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is fairly dry, with the oats upfront, with gentle grassy hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp and bright, with a nice bitter grassy hop character upfront, dried out by the oats, and finishing crisp and punchy. Very nicely made pils.

Clearish copper with almost no head. Esters and a touch raisin and caramel. Sweet and stick with raisin and some earthy notes. Coffee is far in the background.
