Hazy, and light tan. No head. Sort of the wrong look for a kolsch. A yeasty pale malt nose...not kolschy at all, but ok golden ale. Similar palate. Touch of tartness.

Hazy blond color. Paper bag aroma, some hay. Dry mouthfeel, the malt profile has too much hay rather than bready or crisp malts, and nothing comes from the hops.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy dull blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry grainy notes and biscuity malt. Flavour is dry and fairly tasteless, with dry cereal notes and biscuity malt. Dry and lifeless. Weak stuff.

Hazy blond color. Strangely it has aroma of paper and grains; the mouthfeel is weak and dry; there is some hay and coriander flavor, and very low bitterness.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out cereal malt sweetness and Belgian yeast. Flavour is fairly dry, with lightly sweet cereal malt sweetness, Belgian yeast and light banana. Light and clean enough, with notes of banana on the finish. It's okay.

Bottle. A bit hazy, light tan, not much head. This has a bit of dusty yeastiness, with a touch of estery quality. Not promising much, though. Light body. Touch fruity, touch tart. Really, not sure what they are going for, but it’s not coming together super well.

Draught at Devil’s Elbow, Vancouver, 12oz
Dark amber color, hazy, with compact head. The aroma is bready, a bit nutty, simple. The flavor is lightly bready, but the mouthfeel is dry, weak and watery; it absolutely doesn’t have the depth of a real Altbier; apparently less bitterness than the claimed 35 IBUs.
Shallow, there are (slightly) better Altbier in the province. But it’s a clean beer.
