Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford in April 2024. Pours a golden straw with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. The aroma has malts, floral hops and some gentle hints of citrus. In the mouth it is sweet and fruity with noticeable carbonation. Flavour of stone fruits with a hint of ginger. Later this is a little bitterness and flavour of passion fruit leading to a slightly dry and fruity finish. This is reasonable.

In the mouth it is quite sweet with floral hops, citrus and mango. Some hints of tropical fruit later, leading to a slightly dry finish. This is quite decent.

Cask at Bird in hand, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with a medium sized almost white head. There’s floral hops and summer fruits in the aroma. I the mouth it is sweet and juicy but with some underlying bitterness. Flavours of oranges and floral hops plus some malty hints. Finish is slightly bitter. This reasonable – nice uncomplicated refreshing and quaffable. It’s a golden ale though, not a bitter.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Dark purplish brown with a small uneven khaki head. Malty aroma, some strong plummy notes. I expected a sweet taste but its actually nicely balanced. Some strong dark malts, more stone fruit. Bitter hop ushers in the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Pretty good.
