Description
Spookton started life as a result of an obsession for homebrewing modern craft beer. We launched in 2022 as a cuckoo brewery and we’re taking our next big step in early 2024 by opening our own microbrewery and tap room in the centre of Chester.

Can shared in London - cheers! Pours murky gold with a foamy, white head. Medium sweet flavour, a little soapy bite, crackery pale malts. So so.

CBJ Tasting. Can, thanks to Tips. A light haze on this orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light smooth pale malts, pretty ripe citrus. Light and dry finish. Okay.

Can split at the ‘rar’ date tasting in CBJ, thanks to the Wingmane, 29/02/2024.
Hazed orange with a good sized off white head.
Nose is bitter orange, grass, grapefruit, pine nip.
Taste comprises mixed tropicana, grass, pine needle, mandarin, grapefruit, bitter orange.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy hop bitterness.
Tidy enough DIPA ... other folks are wrong as usual!

Can from Cork & Cask. Pours hazy red purple with a thick pink head. Aromas of apple and blackcurrant, light cinnamon. Taste is blackcurrant and spice. Light sour. Dry finish.

Can from Cork & Cask. Appearance - murky purple with a pinkish-white head. Nose - funky, funny dirty, smoky note. Blackberry is the main fruit. Taste - cleaner than the nose. Blackberry and sweet spice this time. Palate - medium bodied, tangy sour and funky finish. Overall - didn't smell great, then improved.

Can at ash's. Pours hazy pinkish, nose is savoury, cloying spice, blackberry, little musty, taste is juicy berry, nutmeg, allspice, slightly creamy.

Draft at BeerHeadZ, Lincoln. Pale and hazy golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are light fruity sweet and stone fruit. Medium body.

Can from the Black Toad. Appearance - deep brown to black and fairly opaque. Creamy, tan head. Nose - treacle, dark chocolate, pine with just a hint of orange or lime Taste - chocolate, raisins, liquorice and lime marmalade. Palate - medium bodied, creamy middle and a dry, roasty finish. Overall - what a really interesting beer. Very much closer to a hopped stout than an IPA, but super!
