growler-thanks Ed for sharing-pours a tan head with amber color. Aroma is soft medium malt-bready. Taste is medium malt-bready/some roasty, secondary tea hops.

On tap at Delaney’s in New Haven. Pours dark reddish brown with nice head. Nose is of dark fruits and cocoa. Tastes of tart cherry, raspberries, dark chocolate, earth, and cola. Not too sour nor overly fruity but a solid offering from blue point

Hrm, poured with a burst of fresh blueberry aroma but that was about the only nice thing about the beer. Ordinary golden amber, not much head. Bready malts, blueberry flavors were candyish and tasted somewhat fake. Medium palate.

from a screw top 12 oz bottle. drank directly from the bottle so i am assuming it is the color of any other punky beer. smells a little like pumpkin, just barely, of course wit spices. yes, a little bitter and medicinal like man punky beers, probably a style that rates up there with ipa as far as i am concerned. yes a beer but polluted with pumpkin and spices, like so many other punk beers. ok for t his type but not really anything special. i wish these punk beers tasted more like pumpkin pie. you know, so many breweries feel they have to fill that profitable pumpkin niche, i just wish they would focus on making good beer, not popular beer. overall, about average for the pumpkin style, on the finish there are no real negative ale attributes.

Crisp amber coloured body with a frothy dense light brown head. Aroma of nuts, toasted malt, caramel, cardboard and a bit of funk. Medium-bodied; Dense, assertive malty and caramel flavour with a very bitter earthiness following behind with some pungent metallic and nutty flavours that do not taste good. Aftertaste shows a lot of bitterness, some funky malt, off-tasting caramel and not much else pleasant. Overall, not such a good beer and contrary to the higher ratings for this style, I didn’t find it was worthwhile. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$2.65 sampled at home in Washington on 22-November-2011.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours really dark brown with a small beige head. Aromas of resin and chocolate. My nasal passage seems burnt. Med body. Flavor is resin, burnt malt and chocolate. Something hinting of diacetyl. Works here. Then there’s something like chocolate wine. Then it’s more like chocolate cake. Mixed with herbs and anise. There’s a lot going on with this one. Finishes blackly bitter. Pretty nice stuff.

Pours clear amber color with off white head. Aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg. Cinnamon and nutmeg flavor with a strange aftertaste. Medium body with average carbonation. Initial taste is good but I can’t get past the weird aftertaste.
