Description
Established in 2017 producing bottled and keg beers, the brewery moved into cask production in 2019. Originally brewing from his residence, owner/brewer David Hampshaw soon relocated the two-barrel brewery into a taphouse in Penistone town centre. The brewery has been expanded to a five-barrel system, allowing for an increased range, a greater focus on cask ale, and wider distribution. Cans were introduced in 2020. The brewery is named after the highly-prized, local, whitefaced woodland sheep.

Tap. Penistone Tap. Hazed deep gold. Leggy white swede. Sweet malt and citrus syrup dank hoppage. Very easy drinking with full bitterness. Sank it. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dr. Dedo-Verde on 06 Nov 2020 at 21:29 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 9. Original review text: Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very light haze on a medium gold. Fine swirl of lasting head. Nose has all of the dank and piny. Marmalade. Stewed fruit. Clean sweet grain. Hint of the ABV. Taste is a little sweet at first, turning piny, resinous, steeped fruit bitter. Medium body. Drinks scarily under the 9%. Lingering bitterness to finish. Great beer.

Tap. Penistone Tap. Hazed gold. Decent swede. Missus said it smells of coconut. Big Sabro here with fairly sweet slightly fusty malts. Bittersweet overall. Wasn’t for me this one.
