Single big bottle from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with some red highlights. The big head is creamy, beige, very long lasting and has creamy-patchy lacing. The smokey roasted malts are present in the aromas, but not as strong as most smoked beers. Kind of more nutty with slight dark fruits. Same for the taste, with the nut notes coming from the yeast, making the flavours yeasty over the smokiness. Not bad, but lacking smokey malts and a little too much yeast.

Bomber from the LCBO and second brew from this brewer here. Pours a very slight hazed, golden colour with tiny particles running through it. Beautiful frothy white head, great retention and loads of thick bubbly lace. Aromas are a mix of herbal notes with some grainy malts and slight sweetness. Mild dry mouthfeel with a little grassy bitterness. Cereal malts lingers lightly. A nice twist on the IPA easy-drinking style, but do not feel the spruce.

Pretty light porter. Smoked taste is a little sharp and unbalanced. The rest of the palate comes off light. Thick consistency with a light caramelized sweet malt at end. Soft carbonation. Pours black with good lasting head and lacing. Bottle from lcbo.

This ale poured a slightly cloudy, light yellow colour with a rocky, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of pee, dough, light toast and light spruce. First sip was smooth and flavourful with flavours of honey, cooked veggies and toast. Finish is lightly bitter with very little spruce flavours and a lingering malt/honey flavor. Not too bad at all.

A golden amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, loads of butterscotch and light apples, cloying. In mouth, a lager like offering with sweet cloying malt, faint hops, boring.

Pretty average beer. I can’t taste the lemon grass here. Maybe the dandelion leaves, which add a little sourness to taste and some hibiscus sense to aroma. Pours clear amber with some head and lacing. Tap at Session.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very pale golden yellow. Minimal white head that is gone almost immediately leaving no trace on the glass. Aroma is mostly caramel and honey and a hint of spruce if you use your imagination but definitely not dominant. Sweet throughout with a light slick feel and minimal carbonation. An interesting beer but not not for heavy rotation.

Bouteille 500ml.

500ml from the LCBO and sometimes called "Highlander Pale Ale" as on their site (right now). Pours a clean copper colour with a warm cap that is frothy, decent lasting and gives out dirty lacing. I really like the smell of this one. Kind of a nutty coffee aroma with some light chocolate and roasted malts. Thin mouthfeel making this one go down easily. The flavours are a bit milder, but still good with some toffee, well-balanced with some nuts and very mild hop arrives in the aftertaste. Hints of dark fruits eventually make it out. I prefer this one not too cold. Quite pleasant overall with some subtle characters.

A nice copper amber ale with a thin creamy compact mocha head. In aroma, decent butterscotch malt and caramel, woody maple. In mouth, a sweet maple and butterscotch malt with faint grassy hops, oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, a tad too sweet but decent. However, this listing should be re-listed under the new name, Scottish Ale...
