Pint of cask in the newly reopened village pub before lunch on Sunday. Good pour and looked brilliant in the glass. Not much nose. A typical easy drinking bitter. Very light malt and bitter hops. You could happily drink this all night. And that is the point. It's a beer for long afternoons or nights in the pub.

330ml bottle from Morrisons - clear deep amber with a solid white head. Strong malty character, fruity toffee with a tangy stone fruits finish.

Bradford CAMRA Beer Festival 2026, Beer#26. Darker clear amber coloured with a lightening glow. A hoppy, somewhat gritty bitter, it has a mid-bitterness about it at best.
330ml bottle from Morrisons - jet black body with a short lasting off-white head. Sweet vanilla nose, creamy vanilla takes the sharpness of the roasted notes, slightly dusty cocoa vibe at the end.

Pink tinged amber gold with a frothy white head and a soft fruit biscuit aroma. Smooth with biscuit malt, strawberries and cream, a little hop kick and a dry bitter finish.

Handpull cask at the University Arms, Sheffield. Pinkish Red, clear with an off-white (with a soupçon of pink) head. It's got a lovely strawberries and cream aroma. Unfortunately this doesn't translate into the taste, which is medicinal with notes of straw and sulphur. There's some fruit buried way down here somewhere but my tongue isn't digging it out. Bitterness in the finish. Astringent. Light body with some sparkler-induced carbonation. Not my cup of tea, tastes like a boring beer infused with strawberry and it doesn't really work.
