Description
On September 15, 1923, the Mexicali Brewery opened its doors and quickly became one of the biggest and solid industrial facilities in the Northwest region of the Republic.

AB InBev acquired the Mexicali brand in November 2015 via a subsidiary of Grupo Modelo in a deal that included the craft breweries Cervecería Mexicana and Cervecería Tijuana.

33cl bottle. Pours very deep amber with fine white foam. Aroma is deeply caramel, malty,, berries. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is medium-high sweet, with moderate bitterness. Final is average.

Clear brown colour, good moussy beige head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma light toasted malts, grain, brown sugar, molasses. Taste medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, light caramel, molasses, candy sugar. Medium body, watery to oily texture, average carbonation, very short sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste, sugary notes, drinkable (but that's all).

Clear dark amber brown colour, small stable creamy off-white head, reducing to a thin creamy layer, fair lacing. Aroma light roasted malt, caramel, dark candy sugar, some fruit syrup. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, bit roast, caramel, dark fruit, dark candy sugar. Medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering dry malty sweetbitter aftertaste, caramel, candy sugar, bit cardboard, earthy notes, very nice.

Clear amber brown colour, small stable creamy off-white head, dissipates to a thin creamy layer, good lacing. Strong roasted malt aroma, caramel, pine resin. Roasted malt taste, medium sweet and bitter, caramel, pine resin. Medium body, oily texture, roastiness and burnt character continue in the aftertaste, quite a coarse beer but good to drink, okay.
