12 oz. bottle. Pleasantly surprised by this one. Banana, clove, with thick wheat yeast in the nose. Flavor is as it should be. Flavors of citrus banana, spice, bubblegum, mild doughy yeast. Light-medium body and very refreshing. Nice German wheat.

Bottle 198 yen from Liquor Mountain. 5% a clear glass bottle leads to a slightly skunky (lightstruck) aroma on opening. A clear gold pour with a foamy white head. The skunky aroma persists. The flavor is sweet sugary & hay/grass/corn/basically grains. A hint of bitterness from the hops but the aftertaste is sweet & sugary. It leaves my mouth feeling coated in sugar, the kind of feeling I get after drinking coca-cola... Blurgh...

Clear amber coloured body with a very light copper glow and a one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pale malt, light earthy and caramel hops with a hint of floral and pine notes as well. Medium-bodied; Very rich and deep malt flavours with a lot of strong english and german hop varieties and a strong earthy and quite bitter finish. Aftertaste shows mostly a nutty, earthy and pungent malt flavour with a bitter hop note, not horribly present, but definitely medicinal and off-putting. Overall, not such a great beer, but that was almost expected - this was sampled more for being intrigued on the offering. Not worth filling up space in a suitcase or if it’s expensive, but if you can get it local, it may be worth a try to see a mexican version of an english style that the americans have perfected. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 20-September-2013.

Great hazy golden coloured body with highlights of orange, peach and even some light copper noticeable, all with a single centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, yeast, fresh cut grass, light bananas and a hint of clove - very nice aroma. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive spicey flavours with a large wheat and yeast backbone, showing the white pepper, coriander seed and curacao notes tucked in with a little earthy hops, some grassy notes and a smooth, subtle finish. Aftertaste is nice and refreshing with the wheat and yeast coming out strongest and a touch of lemons and citrus at the end. Overall, a very nice german hef with a lot of nice flavours and a good complexity throughout. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99, sampled at home in Washington on 11-September-2013, two blocks from the Pentagon - Always Remember.

11.2 oz bottle, thanks brenn79. Aroma is doughy, chalky, bready--pretty muted. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a medium white head with good retention. Taste starts out sweet before turning bitter. No real hop characteristics other than the bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy, body medium. Not bad, much better than the first time I tried it. It’s nice to see Mexico producing good beer!

(Bottle - ABV 4.4% Superior Mexican Beer, rather than Original on label - maybe export variant). Clear orangey golden with little white head. Subtle aroma of somewhat grainy malt. Light to medium body with pleasant medium carbonation. Taste of light grainy malt with a citrusy tang. Overall, it’s drinkable.

can - It’s light, sweet, and grainy, a typical crappy pale lager. Fizzy and light bodied, I’ve had worse, but there’s nothing here to recommend it. An Ed Hardy branded beer, huh? Perhaps it would be better with some skulls and hearts joining that tiger on the label.

New Beer Distributors, NY 11.2oz ($2.25): Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is corn. Taste is the same. Really sweet. Tastes like macro brew. I’ve had worse.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, best before 5/8/2014. Pours clear nearly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, nuttiness, light coffee, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of light milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, nuttiness, light coffee, floral, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, nuttiness, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very watered down but pleasant flavor balance; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy and watery mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a mediocre porter. Not offensive in taste, but pleasant and smooth to drink otherwise.
