Description
In the wide-skied arable lands of Holderness, down a tree-lined lane, lies Great Newsome Brewery. Here you will find beers for all seasons and all-year drinking.

We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We keep it simple, using superb natural ingredients to make beer that you can sit back and enjoy, without even thinking about it. Which in our opinion is the sign of a very good pint indeed. It’s traditional craft beer with a modern twist.
Growing our own malting barley gave us a good start and we have since developed special strains of yeast as well as experimenting with homegrown hops, although they are difficult this far north.
Visiting our shop, you’ll be sure of a tail wagging welcome from our English Springer Spaniels, descendants of the late Jem, our mascot who is fondly remembered on bottle labels and draft beer bar tags.

Cask at Captain Cooks, Östersund. Trying to work out how a small Hull brewery makes it here....anyway, unlike the others who tried it and didn't think the marshmellow was obvious, to me it was super obvious. The aroma was sweet, the taste was very strongly mashmellow that grew over time. Tastes like those kind of funky flavoured beers you often find at Spoons - ones that have this odd clash of standard real ale profiles and some (often unnecessary) flavour whacked in. This was OK though.
