Description
It’s too easy to let life become predictable and settle for the ordinary. Luckily though, Orchard Pig is no ordinary cider. It all began in a Somerset shed, surrounded by the best West Country apple trees and free roaming Old Spot pigs. But, whilst every orchard has apples, not every orchard has Old Spot pigs. We believe our free-spirited attitude is the magic ingredient which makes every pint of Orchard Pig taste so refreshingly different to all the rest. Not your average apples, not your average pig. Orchard Pig. It’s a rare breed.

Cask at the haymarket. Pours hazy gold with a short-lived white head. Aromas of ginger and light chilli, jalapeno. Faint cider apple note. Taste is honey sweet, really very sweet up front, then some cider and light ginger. No real heat though. Not for me.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a few bubbles and no head. Nose - the ginger and chilli notes are subtle. Apples of course. Taste - more of the same. Spices restrained and well melded with apples. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - really very good. Slightly more complexity than expected.

Cask @ Stubbing Wharf, Hebden Bridge. Hazy dishwater yellow in colour. Light, but not thin with apple evident in both aroma and taste. There’s a mild sweetness (the marmalade) to the cider with a short aftertaste.
