Description
It’s too easy to let life become predictable and settle for the ordinary. Luckily though, Orchard Pig is no ordinary cider. It all began in a Somerset shed, surrounded by the best West Country apple trees and free roaming Old Spot pigs. But, whilst every orchard has apples, not every orchard has Old Spot pigs. We believe our free-spirited attitude is the magic ingredient which makes every pint of Orchard Pig taste so refreshingly different to all the rest. Not your average apples, not your average pig. Orchard Pig. It’s a rare breed.

Bottle from World Bar, Resorts World, Birmingham. Clear gold, light bubbles. Fairly sweet apple aroma, light wood. Taste again quite sweet, minor cider vinegar tang but its quite sessionable. Semi-dry with some wood note. Moderate carbonation. Good easy drinker for the strength.

500ml bottle. Clear gold with aroma of apples, fruity barnyard notes. Dry and slightly fusty. Light to moderate body, a bit clingy around the palate. Not bad overall though.

330ml draft in a bottle from lowcostbeer.com. Pours light cloudy gold, small brief white head, leaves a little island. Aroma is quite subtle but there is a nice fruity apple, some caramel. taste is a part stewed apples, caramel, some citrus, apple peels. Light, refreshing, light syrup, moderate carbonation. Enjoyable.

Draught at Omeara, London Bridge/Borough, London before the excellent Skating Polly gig. Sweetish, mild apple, a bit watery, quite dull. Feels like they've tried to make a cider that will be inoffensive to all; as such it's very dull. Fortunately Skating Polly made up for it with one of the best live performances I've seen; helped by being at one of the nicest small music venues I've been to. So, a great evening despite the boring cider.
